Sidwell football article in post....what are the parents saying?

The Sidwell program is not a disaster. I am not from the D.C. area but the Sidwell program has a sterling reputation nationally and abroad. I suspect the sense of disaster is limited to the poster's bedroom. That's a good thing.

If your point is that the football team isn't very good, I don't think anyone would disagree.

But you do realize that in their conference (which includes the Potomac School, Maret, GDS and other comparably sized schools with academic strengths) that Sidwell has won the Directors Cup (for overall performance in all sports) for the EIGHT of the last NINE years? There is no better metric to represent the overall sports program in comparison to its peer schools, and it consistently outperforms them.

Again, when presented with real evidence, you toss out foolish conjecture. These points aren't being racked up in golf and cross country. They're coming from sports like soccer, basketball, wrestling and baseball.

Sidwell is a great school with a great academic reputation. But the Sidwell parents are delusional who insist that Sidwell's sports program is strong.

Strong compared to Prep, or strong compared to peer institutions?

As someone else just posted, the school has won the Director's Cup 8 of the last 9 years. No one is saying they are Prep.

Why don't you ask real football players the meaning of credibility including the ball players you so fantasize about? Sidwell should not care one iota about football. Why? Give us one credible reason why anyone should spend $$$ millions over a silly game or sport? This thread absolutely reflects the culture you buy into with your psychotic beliefs. Penn State clearly illustrates the fundamental problem with football. You can keep your game. Sidwell is doing marvously well without this idolatry. There's absolutely no need to go down your pathway of fantasy and foolish worship of scores. Good private schools that nurture intellect and character don't deserve this nonsensical obsession with football, sports and scores. Whenever you get the itch to continue your rant remember the young private school aged boys raped over and over again in the Penn State football showers by a football idol intoxicated with football and high winning scores. There's a very good reason why Sidwell has a national and international fine reputation. I doubt any other private school in the area with a "winning" football team comes even close.
