I don't think this is a safety school at all for any blue or orange player. It's a highly desirable school within driving distance of the DMV with great academics and an awesome new coach. I bet some of these blue players are waiting to see all their offers before they decide. They are taking there time to consider ALL their offers. The orange player was smart to jump on the offer. There are players with offers now for 2-3 weeks trying to decide and finish up their visits.

W&M is a good school but it’s not in the top tier of academically prestigious schools. It also has a long standing reputation of being rather boring - or at least not being fun. That has been the reputation for decades.

Add in its history of having a less successful lacrosse program and the desirability for some girls is minimal. Of course for some kids it’s an ideal fit and if one is a Virginia resident the desirability increases.

It absolute is safety for the top half of blue players but i agree it’s a target school for bottom quartile

I would like to advise everyone 27s and younger on here watching to see what’s to come for your daughter… you have no idea where this road will take you… never say never to any school. There are amazing things happening at all of these schools!

Whatever will you do when your daughter can no longer rely on the prestige of the moniker “Capital Blue”? How will you possibly be able to define yourself without telling people you’re the parent of that player? I hope for your sake, you move on to some other avenue.. your daughter’s college, job, spouse, country club, etc, that allows you to demonstrate your superiority and continue to demean others.

One day all these girls will get to a point where no one cares what club they played for. Soon after that no one will care that they played college lacrosse. At that point all we can hope is that they enjoyed and got good value out of the institution they attended.

These days are actually pretty soon for them. Can we stop putting down these schools and celebrate girls making positive plans for their lives and futures?

W&M is an excellent school in a great town with a great culture. In state $ for VA residents. A new coach and a great opportunity to be rock stars at an up-and-coming program. My daughter played there: she (and we) have met friends for life. We partied our butts off (house parties, huge tailgates, great bars, spectacular hotels). DD got great playing time and is making a fortune at her first career job. A lot to like.
