100+ I have a starter whose ECNL Coach left Fall season and went from starter, playing full minutes to riding the pine (this was not even a merger)--just a new Coach with same players. He left and made a higher ranked team. But, I wouldn't be so cocky if as some of these posters. Game scores also don't represent individual player talent. |
Lots of insecurity is showing in all these posters spouting off their prediction and roster selection. lmaof |
I heard that the top 2-3 from Brave are heading to VDA |

For this alliance to have had a reasonable chance at success, it should have been announced months ago, not hastily the week before March 1 with no website or coaching slate. SYC has been scooping up players from all three of these clubs for a month now.
Add to that, team formation will be a political nightmare. You have to imagine that each ECNL team will need to have a few players from each club which means a less than optimal outcome if you are trying to put up the most competitive teams possible. |
Probably because that's the only way to get away from Brave coaches |
Virginia Union was SYC and McLean. Now that SYC is leaving, is it possible that Virginia Union couldn’t continue without a partner? |
Exactly. Top players are top players. Depth of position is the greatest factor for them. Those in the middle? Yeah, different set of eyes and different coaching philosophy can make a sub a starter and a starter a sub. But, lets be honest and look at that relativity a bit. If you are a sub on a bad team to the tune of 10 minutes a game, you should start looking. Are you a kid on a team with large rosters of +20? It's over. Subs who split games on a good team? Beauty will be in the eye of the beholder. Starters who split time? Beauty will be in the eye of the beholder. Full game starters might end up split game starters at worst. The relative quality of the team can play a role in this as well. A full game starter on a bad team might make you a split game starter or you are a stud on a bad team and you'll be fine. The cream will rise one way or another. |
So true, other than maybe VDA, none of these ECNL clubs should be saying players who won't make their rosters and will play GA or dilute GA rosters. Deaf, dumb and or blind you ECNL sheep still are. People, ECNL families will choose GA's player development model over this Alliance of the week ECNL is currently playing in NoVa, believe that! Your kid does not matter at all, is the messaging from ECNL. they are saying we know we are the best ticket in town for your girl to go to college and play soccer. No pathways for pro development, no pathway for equitable evalutions, trials in comparision to male couterparts. Just college is what ECNL is selling you. That is more than enough for most, don't get me wrongg, but if thats not enough for you, then its time to open your eyes parents. Maybe don't go to Revolution but certainly SYC is looking the most appealing outside of VDA, only becuase they have added a well known TD in BP, like him or not, you know he has connections. So VDA and SYC have at them, different parts of NoVa but one takes the East, the other the West, and Union just fails because of ECNL greed, and of course Arlington will always be there, being mediocre |
Old parents in McLean stopped breeding. The pipeline really dried up in the younger age groups. They need an influx of children from other areas to field younger teams. |
Ding Ding! there is nothing else to say. Unless you believe that Brave players are the missing piece to Union sucess. Anyone in the know, knows the talent the last three years all came from Springfield. The question is how many return to SYC? Time will tell |
LOL |
McLean is a joke anyways, cannot hack it. Their girls coaching staff spread thin, hands in so many things no wonder the results are poor. All about the money at that club. Like watching a Gov't bail out because the clubs are struggling. Please do not include them in a club debate about development. They are bottom of the list, complete frauds!
Heard Manchester United is in talks with Man City to merge because they want trophies. CONFIRMED!! |
McLean could have added DMV FC and GFR |
+1 This is the worst of all possible outcomes for the boys' program. Two best ECNL coaches in the existing mix wont' be coaching? Boys will go from bad to worse for any U14 and up. But hey, NM is getting what he wants and the girls program will be OK, so NM and LW are happy, and who cares about the boys anyway? |
