I don't need to. The 5 person committee in Norway has explained their reasoning and since they're the ones that felt he deserved it why would you be asking me? You can be be bitter and Obama all you want but the fact is it's not easy for us to know the impact he has internationally. You know living here in the US and all. Besides my comment is for the people that are bashing Obama as if it's an office he ran for or something. Disagree with the process, sure, but why hate on Obama? I'm sure the charity that receives that 1.4 million will be ecstatic.

If you're still asking then you obviously don't understand the Nobel Peace Prize and why and how it's awarded. It isn't a matter of what he did in 11 days. It's not really something you can argue with. The people that award it felt he deserved it and gave THEIR reasoning. You can pretend to be obtuse all you want, but they make the rules and award the prize. The end.

OMG, does someone on the Nobel committee post here? Cool.

He could NOT have declined the award. He would have caught much more flak had he done so and offended the international community. As it is, only the people who already hated him are pissed off. Sure, it's a big surprise and many of us are shrugging our shoulders, but it's hardly his fault.

I actually love seeing everyone all worked up. The rest of the entire world found the previous administration so absolutely reprehensible that Obama's mere election is worthy of the Peace Prize.

Actually, he COULD decline to accept as it has been done before. BVut he is so FULL of himself that he could not possibly turn it down.
