Basically, I want a city in the US (east coast, south, or midwest preferred) that is fun, with a hotel with a great pool and pool bar. I am thinking of a great trip I took to the now apparently closed Hyatt Regency Downtown Los Angeles. I was able to hang out at the pool all day but then got to enjoy restaurants and night life of LA. It was laid back and a lot of fun.
Charleston does not seem to have a pool scene and neither does Nashville. Would rather avoid Miami, Orlando or Palm Beach but potentially open to other destinations in Florida. Nowhere in Texas, California, or Chicago. Ideas? Specific hotel/resort recs would be great too. Thank you! Oh and I forgot the most important part NO CHILDREN!!!! |

You want it to be warm enough for an outdoor pool, lively enough for nightlife, but not in FL, TX, or CA?
Vegas? NYC/Hamptons? New Orleans? |
| Definitely Vegas even though you didn't want west coast. Cheap plane flights. Great hotels with huge amenities. The pools there are fantastic and they all have bars. Restaurants and the evening scene has something for everyone (babysitters, shows, gambling, drinking, dancing). |

I said no FL, TX, or CA just because we have either been recently or have upcoming trips planned.
We were actually thinking Vegas except that my husband is worried that I will crash very early with the combo of the time change and day drinking. He gets annoyed when we plan fun trips and I am so tired from my general mom-state of being overtired that I physically can't stay out late. He thought that with the vegas time difference we'd be lucky to stay out past 8 pm. Thoguhts? |
| We actually have a NYC trip planned too but I'd be open to that if there's a particuarly good hotel suggestion. New Orleans seemed really hot and muggy, but could work. |
this is me, too. I can't day-drink like I could at 25. I'll have one or two pool drinks (nothing too strong) with lunch. Shower and nap before heading out in the evening. You need to nap/rest for awhile and LEAVE the hotel at 8 pm. Have some coffee at 6 or 7 PM. You should be able to make it until midnight. |
| One of the casino/hotels in Biloxi, MS? |
I am the same way these days with my Vegas trips. That said, it can be a positive. You basically will beat the crowds all day. Up early to no lines at the breakfast buffet. Prime seating at the pool (lots of folks get out there early to get good seats). Then you can head back to your room around 2-3 pm to nap before an early-ish dinner (I would recommend no later than 6 pm since that's 9 pm ET) and then maybe a show. |

| Louisville, KY. The Hyatt and Omni have outdoor pools and are near the Fourth Street area. You can also go to Churchill Downs for horse racing. Visit the Maker's Mark distillery, Louisville Slugger museum if your husband or you like baseball. Random, but it's a fun city. |

I hate the city but the pool at W Downtown Atlanta is nice.

| National harbor |
| I was worried about not being able to stay up in Vegas but I was fine. Maybe all the oxygen they pump into the casinos helped. I limited day drinks to one or two and only after lunch. Then I made sure I had time to rest or nap before showering. We had dinner at like 8:00. The night we went to a show was tough because all that sitting and watching made me too tired to do much else afterward. It was actually much more fun than I had expected and would go back again soon. We stayed at the Aria. |
