Looking for a Developmental Pediatrician

We have been cancelled by DS dev ped 3x! Therefore, I need your help in finding a new dev ped (preferably outside of Children's Hospital since they are the ones that continuously cancel our appointments). Please Help!

Dr Belsito in Bethesda, out of network, as her practice does not take most insurance plans.

Can you reveal who did the cancelling?

We used to see Conlon in private practice who was great for advise and the nicest guy, but not good for reports. He still is practicing I think, went to Kaiser then not sure where. We then saw Dr. Turnacioglu who love dout of country-huge loss as he was a hreat pediatrician. Then we tried to get in with a woman, don't recall nam,e, but there were too many hoops so we gave up.

Dr. Belsito or Dr. Trevor L. Valentine. We see both and like them both very much. Dr. Valentine takes insurance but you will probably be able to see Belsito earlier than him ...

Thanks for the info. Dr. Cathy Jo Scheiner at Children’s has canceled each time.

We’ve seen Dr. Ryan Uy at Children’s a few times and had no problem. He’s not there very frequently though-only every other Friday, I think.

Not a developmental ped but a geneticist at Children's in Rockville: Kenneth Rosenbaum. He is very knowledgeable and conscientious. My child ended up seeing him and a wonder neurologist, Dr. Lucy Civitello, more than his developmental ped at Children's.

Definitely Dr. Belsito.

If you call the intake line at Kennedy Krieger, they will be able to match you to a good doc. We have found they do a great job up there. But I'm surprised by Children's. That's so unlike them. We have docs at both places.

Thanks, I'll give them a call. We're very disappointed with Children's because another pediatric doctor (endocrinologist) also cancelled on us too last minute when the appointment was made months in advance. Thus, not offering any new dates.

Definitely not Dr. Belsito. Our daughter saw her about 4x. I feel like she is not up to date on current findings and literature. My husband also felt that she was a bit closed minded in her assessment of possible contributing factors to our daughters presentation. In hindsight, I wish we had moved on sooner. Our current developmental ped has a much broader swath of knowledge. OP do your homework first

Tell the ombudsman office at Children’s. That’s ridiculous. We have had dozens of appointments there (different departments) and only one time have they called to reschedule an appointment and when they did, they were very accommodating with rescheduling. I’m sorry to hear this has happened to you.
