Why? Please clue me in.
Are you unaware you block everyone behind you? Just not care? Do you really go back and watch these videos? |
| I always assume they are sending them to grandparents who may or may not watch them. I agree they are annoying but they are a fact of life - the same parents fight for the front rows of every performance and do this every time, so get used to it and try and relax and watch the show. |

I don't mind. Never do it at school, but we do record our kids' musical performances outside of school. |
| I have not seen this. My dd was presented an award during an assembly and I recorded it on a GoPro and felt like I was the only one to ever do that at our school. But we live somewhere without relatives near and that’s how we share. At at a concert? I’ve not seen that. |
I would like to be able to see my kid singing too, but your fat arm was in my way. DOWN IN FRONT. |
| Going to the kids' end-of-year performance tonight and just assuming I'll view it through someone else's screen. I actually try not to have my phone out during these things - it takes you out of the moment. Snap a couple of pics to share with the long-distance relatives and then put the phone away. |
| IT's the people who do it with the iPad in the front row who I want to slap. |
| My kids school has tried to cut down on this by setting up an "official" camera to record, so not every parent has to video it. The video is then posted on school's secure site. |
| How do you send video to grandparents? |
Such a good idea. |

PP you insulted. Why are you so aggressive? We record to the side with a tripod so as not to block. We never record on a cell phone, the quality is really bad. And my arms are very slim, thank you. |
| Went through this as the performance of the school musical last night. The school sells a DVD, from a professional videographer, and yet these asshats were blocking people's views. And before anyone comments, the people making the videos were more than able to spring for the $30 for the dvd. |
I tried to watch the show. I was completely blocked from seeing my child by the woman who stood in her seat to record. Occasionally I caught a glimpse of him when she leaned to the side. I sure hope she enjoys her video. |
| I will actually say something to the people if they are right in front of me and their cell/camera is blocking my view. At best, they put it down or change seats. At worst, their entire video has audio of me asking them to put it down, telling them how rude they are being, etc. |
