Lost interest in supporting capital? Isn’t she the owner?

Lost interest in American Select. The previous poster was spot on with the bad coaching.

2028 coach talked on the phone for almost 10 minutes during a game last summer. Not even looking at the field. It was bad.

2027 coach was great; still didn’t impact results.

The 28 coach was a NIGHTMARE!!!!!! He was so rude and demeaning to the girls and just yelled at them constantly when he was busy being on his phone or showing up late to the games.

The 2027 AS MD coach literally told a girl “I’m not sure how you made this team, but you aren’t good enough to play”, and benched the kid.

Very true. The 2027 US Club player ratings were comically bad, in hindsight, 5 star kids at bottom and D3 kids at top in some cases. I’m fairly certain ratings done by interns.

DC/VA is 1 of 2 teams left to post a tryout day. Why the delay?

The only other region beside DC/VA yet to post a tryout day is Canada. Clearly a low priority.

Gussie was def reading as tryout dates are up now. Well done 28 parents.

A lot of the players listed on US Club Lax also have ratings from IL. Was your DD one of them?

All of those ratings help enhance your lacrosse résumé. There's no denying that they don't hurt a recruit in the process, and they can definitely add another dimension to your recruiting profile.

Respectfully, I don’t know that “all of those ratings” help. The way I decided whether to pay the US Club Lax rating fee was a simple review of the 2027s ratings, compared to inside lacrosse ratings, and stacked against ultimate recruiting results. I did not see a correlation between the US Club lax rating and recruiting, so I held off.

Not saying it hurts or you can’t include in a resume, just saying that it doesn’t look like it helps.

Of all the money you have spent on club lax, you drew the line in the sand at $140? Even if it doesn’t definitely help, it doesn’t hurt either.

My older kid 2026 got both of those rating and we never paid for it. In fact it wasn’t till it was posted and teammates and other parents sent it to us that we realised that she even had a rating on both US club blacks and inside lacrosse. We don’t know how she got them other than being at events. There are many that get the ratings and are not paying for them.

I think Gussie realized there's a lot more money in opening Healthy Ballers (New one in Reston) and training athletes than running a LAX club. The other top clubs do it way better than Capital - more practices, better coaching, higher quality development, etc.

I don't think the evidence supports this. The only other top clubs in this area are north of the DMV (Baltimore area) and a separate thread showed those player numbers are down sharply among top D1 programs.

Hero’s and M&D beat Capital like a drum.

They did?? When?

Every time they play. 2022-2031 Age groups.

It doesnt matter since the recruiting will still be on point for all three clubs especially Capital.

Is Kathy Jenkins going to do all the recruiting for the 28s even though there’s not one sssa girl on the blue team. It’ll be interesting to see how that teams recruiting goes.

As a parent who has been through this and learned the hard way, I’d get a consultant. Like yesterday. And keep it quiet. That’s what the girls who did the best have done.

Incorrect, there is one 28 SSSAS on blue. But none of the 2028 SSSAS are on varsity. Will be interesting to see if any crack the roster this spring, especially after KJ brought in some 27' transfers and a 28' transfer.
