Lost interest in supporting capital? Isn’t she the owner?

Lost interest in American Select. The previous poster was spot on with the bad coaching.

I think Gussie realized there's a lot more money in opening Healthy Ballers (New one in Reston) and training athletes than running a LAX club. The other top clubs do it way better than Capital - more practices, better coaching, higher quality development, etc. All of the Capital calls mention HB and how they can support the girls grow as athletes and players. Unfortunately, none of that is included in the Capital fees. It's become a big money pit for the parents.

2028 coach talked on the phone for almost 10 minutes during a game last summer. Not even looking at the field. It was bad.

2027 coach was great; still didn’t impact results.

DC/VA is 1 of 2 teams left to post a tryout day. Why the delay?

The 28 coach was a NIGHTMARE!!!!!! He was so rude and demeaning to the girls and just yelled at them constantly when he was busy being on his phone or showing up late to the games.

The only other region beside DC/VA yet to post a tryout day is Canada. Clearly a low priority.

Since American Select was a bad experience for 28’s last year are folks doing All America instead?

I don't think the evidence supports this. The only other top clubs in this area are north of the DMV (Baltimore area) and a separate thread showed those player numbers are down sharply among top D1 programs.

That was his secret sauce. Pretend he was on the phone, show no interest in being there to fire up the girls. The assistant coach was nice enough but a little underwhelming.

Hero’s and M&D beat Capital like a drum.

Yes. And much to your chagrin, Capital players will get recruited to the same (or better) schools.

If any of them are doing BIC, maybe they will just do that instead.

Anonymous wrote:Did you all see that IL Women had a rating for a ‘28 Capital Orange played that was higher than Capital Blue players? Thought that was a surprise. Not familiar with the teams or players at all though (we are Balt area and also my kid is younger).

I can't imagine how a Balto parent of a younger kid would possibly end up making such comparisons, but okay.

The list was right there to see with the club team right by the names. It was easy to do. And stood out as an interesting thing on the list. Other things of interest there too, besides that. I know you have to take it all with a grain of salt.

Can you please provide a link to that list? I would like to see what you are talking about.

US club lacrosse rising stars list. Google or look on US club lacrosse instagram page. What is listed is only the girls for the mid Atlantic region so far.

I see now. The US Club Lacrosse rating is not an "IL Women" rating, which is why I was confused.

Definitely not the same thing. US Club Lax rating may be nice for the players to see, but not really relevant for recruiting. Much to the chagrin of some posters, Inside Lacrosse is.

Very nice.
