ODP is not what it once was, most of the kids playing ODP now make it because the kids who could make it don't play ODP anymore.

DA girls not allowed to play ODP. Takes a big bite out of top of ODP.

If training is still good, what difference does it make? Goes to show you all that you're after the high profile training and are I tested in paying to have your dc be scouted.

If you are solely after training, there is much better training than ODP available.

Have you ever watched ODP district training? It's inferior. Just a moneygrab and old fashioned drills by local club coaches.

ODP is and was never about training. This is one of the singular most misunderstood things about ODP.

ODP is a Identification process. The coaches are not interested in making the kids better. How can they when they only train one day a week? The purpose is to identify the best players over the course of a year by selecting kids from a player pool over the course of a year at various stages. If you fail to make it out of the District pool you no longer train with ODP past November.

The first identification is District. North, South, West etc.

Then kids train and they then get selected for the State team. The selection will often cut a third to half the District kids out.

Then only the "State" kids continue training in the spring. At the end there is regional State tournament, where again 1/3 to half the kids are cut.

Then those State kids remaining may get invited to the Regional Camp where kids are then selected for the ODP Regional pool comprised of States from VA to MASS.

The whole process is designed to select kids, not make them better. If your kid makes a Regional Pool and then is selected for a Regional Team then that kid is a good soccer player regardless of a lack of ECNL or DA.
