The first identification is District. North, South, West etc.

Then kids train and they then get selected for the State team. The selection will often cut a third to half the District kids out.

Then only the "State" kids continue training in the spring. At the end there is regional State tournament, where again 1/3 to half the kids are cut.

Then those State kids remaining may get invited to the Regional Camp where kids are then selected for the ODP Regional pool comprised of States from VA to MASS.

The whole process is designed to select kids, not make them better. If your kid makes a Regional Pool and then is selected for a Regional Team then that kid is a good soccer player regardless of a lack of ECNL or DA.  [/quote]
