Just that? None of that is coming this year. And not until summer next year at best. There is no partial implementation. That is a fantasy of this thread. Full SY in 2026 with the cutoff date. My prediction is August 30, 2025 for that announcement.

My clubs director said the same. They will take their time. But ECNL has already said they want to use SY cutoffs of some kind and will start Fall 26.

No DC committed already. No dog in the fight. Prediction is based on my observations.

Because if you actually knew how to understand what has been said so far this is the only conclusion.

Actual information is great. Guesses and opinions don't help anyone.

How does the GA/MLSN partnership affect ECNL?

At this time, this would not affect ECNL very much. This partnership formalizes an agreement for both leagues to work together and initially adds a few top GA teams to attend an MLSnext National level showcase and they mentioned sharing coaching and development information.

It could affect ECNL in the future if GA moves into the realm of being a springboard league for players to go pro. If that develops, then GA may attract more players away from ECNL who want to pursue that option.

Will it attract so much attention and talent that is rises to top league status in a similar way that MLSnext is over the ECNL Boys league? Possibly not, unless the NWSL helps with league development in a significant way to boost and further legitimize the league.

Yes, I know this off topic for this thread, with enough interest, we should start a new thread to continue the conjecture.

Anybody knows what will happen with id2 National Identification (by USCS) and ODP (by USYS)?

Will those two programs move to SY or remain BY like they are now?

I think they will stay birth year. Any program that deals with the national teams will probably stay birth year.

All NWSL has to do is implement a homegrown rule via GA and all the top players will flow to GA. Just like they do now with MLSN.

It's amazing to think that girls ecnl is one rule away from being 2nd tier. (Just like boys ecnl)
