| Anyone have info on what kind of stats is required for Ga Tech? We checked the school scattergram but it's hard to tell because so few kids applied. If anyone can give stats with whether they were admitted/rejected, it would be really helpful. Dc is in NOVA public HS (not TJ). |

Our school has few applicants to Ga Tech too.
Have you looked at the Common Data Set? https://www.irp.gatech.edu/common-data-set |
| Our school has a fair number of data point from Naviance. Average is 3.78 UW/4.44 W and 1461 SAT. |
| Our HS 1440 or 32 ACT/4.20 WGPA is average accepted |
| Naviance will only help you so much, because engineering admissions are separate and held to a higher standard. |

I know one student with 4.0 GPA with good EC, good SAT, not admitted.
Apparently requirements for OS student from VA/MD area is extremely high. |
Was that student female? a minority? |

For engineering admissions, look at this for GA Tech:
http://profiles.asee.org/profiles/7821/screen/19?school_name=Georgia+Institute+of+Technology 25/75 ACT Composite is 32/35 25/75 ACT Math is 31/35 25/75 SAT is 1400/1550 25/75 SAT Math is 720/790 24K applied, about 4800 offered admission. |
4.0, as in perfect gpa or is this weighted? |
This is op, thank you for this link and for all those who responded. Yes, dc is a boy wanting to go into engineering. Alas, not sure it will happen at ga tech. |
Yes, OOS is very tough. Based on perusal of GA education press, I sorta came away with the sense that the school is under a bit of pressure to admit more in state students (which of course is a common refrain). Know some really high quality OOS students who did not get in. |
Perfect GPA... |
|
My DC is there and from OOS. % admitted from OOS is around 12% -15%. It I so about 60% instate and 40% out of state including internationals.

| 13:57 poster - also read the admissions director blog to get idea of type of candidate they are looking for, not all high scoring kids |
Do tell! |
