| I have a newborn and am curious about the cost of a nanny and what household income is needed to support it. If you live in DC and have a nanny (and pay for taxes, etc.), what is your HHI, and how many hours does nanny work for what hourly rate or yearly salary? I'm genuinely curious how so many people fit nannies into the family budget. |
| Following. |
| We had one at 160 |
What did you pay? How many hours? |
|
$300K
$900 a week for nanny. |
| We had one at $300K. |
+1 |
| $300 k too |
| $220k but we have grandparent help for the nanny we need due to some health issues with dd. |
| 500k. We just got one for our second child. The all-in cost is about $4500 which blows my mind but I guess we can afford it (and so far it’s awesome). |
So 54k/year? My daycare for one kid is ~28k, so a nanny might be the best option if we have 2 kids. Does your nanny watch both kids? |
Does this include all nanny costs? |
I assume that is per month. |
| Combined income of 200k and we were paying about 20 an hour but this was about 5 years ago. |
Yes. |
