Where to have a wedding? Unconventional DC venue suggestions

Anonymous
So DD just got engaged - happy news for us! Would love suggestions for some local wedding venues that may not be obvious. Just because of big families once we start adding friends - wedding will probably be at least 125-150 but not over 200! Hoping for a fun, not pretentious vibe. Not looking to go too far out of DC and ideally we'll find some place IN town. If you've been to a wedding or an event that you think would be fun for a summer wedding/probably August- please send ideas.

Wedding won't be for a year (her fiancee will be finishing residency beginning of summer 2019) but know we will need to reserve soon. TIA

We did ours on the Odessy cruise out of SW and it was great. We were originally booked for a restaurant venue but they had to cancel after being sold. We were planning on 125 and ended up with 100.
We looked at the ITC building (Reagan Building) but it was very expensive.

National Museum of Women in the Arts. It is pricey but gorgeous. Decatuer House is beautiful, but you'd need to tent the courtyard, which can be expensive.

Most of the beautiful old houses/manors have pretty low caps on the number of guests you can have.

Oxon Hill Manor is also gorgeous (the views are incredible), but it's mostly outdoors so it can be really really hot in the summer. It's also not cheap, even though its a public park.

Meadowlark Gardens is stunning but pretty far from DC if you have a lot of out of towners. I wanted it myself - it books up early!

PP adding some more thoughts...non-conventional venues can easily become more expensive than conventional ones. Venues like hotels are geared up for weddings - you typically pay a set price per head which includes the venue, tables/chairs, linens, food, service, liquor, dance floor, lighting, draping of walls, etc. If you go with a non-conventional venue, you have to do each of those things separately (and sometimes need additional amenities that you wouldn't think of, like a tent, air conditioning/heating, special permits or restroom trailers) and they get expensive quickly.

We looked into a venue that would require tenting, and that started at $4000. It can add up.

Woodrow Wilson House in Kalorama, although the Bezos house renovation (former Textile Museum) might affect the aesthetics.

Nats Park. There are several reception rooms with fabulous views. Metro accessible and in town. No one would forget it.

Strictly the venue fee or does that include food/rentals/anything else?
