Same. I'd say my pre-photo interest in the royals was mild and entirely for fun. I have long enjoyed looking at the fashion. But I barely followed the whole Harry and Meghan thing. To me it was on par with most celebrity gossip -- a way to pass the time in a waiting room or on a plane, can be fun to chat with friends about, but not something I take seriously or think about almost at all the rest of the time.

The photo incident really grabbed my attention because I can't remember the last time a high profile public person did something that strange, press wise. I don't buy most of the theories about it (she's not dead, why would they hide this, and the divorce/affair rumors are all pretty ridiculous-sounding) but I am very curious to find out how that screw up happened and think there might be some kind of underlying scandal. Thus watching and waiting to see what it is, if anything.

I used to feel the same until I saw all the attacks on MM for dating/marrying Harry. I then got interested in how racist and awful British media was. I read Spare and it definitely makes me take notice of how exact the descriptions are for what is going on. Harry never bad mouthed Camilla but did say she had the most cunning PR team at her disposal (compared to the other royals). It's true there is never a negative story about her. They also trade stories with the press (you can post this if you kill that). Kate's PR is either turning on her or letting someone with less smarts and more power call the shots. The photo wasn't just edited here and there or to switch prints, they put Kate's face in from a magazine cover she had been in, so that makes it a bit wilder than a few blurry bits.

Less smarts + more power = William

Less smarts and more power than who, Camilla? Charles?

Oh you mean Harry? That's your conclusion?

Dp
You don't even make sense. Harry did not put out this mother's day photo as much as you wish to blame them yet again

PP here. If you mean I misunderstood their post, please explain it to me. William has less smarts and more power than? Who?

Less smarts and more power than Kate's hired PR team.

I've actually wondered if The Princess Party that posts incessantly here is not Russian powered.

What would be the point? I’m very informed about the troll farms and disinformation but I don’t see the point here.

There really are people who think that royalty aren’t humans with human flaws and take offense to any insinuation that they are. It’s bizarre when their dysfunction is so clearly on display generation after generation.

DP. I take offense at the maliciousness. I guess that makes me a Princess Powerpuff Girl. Bubbles, probably.

DP. The malicious and abusive posts come from The Princess Party.

I don't think those are the ones claiming a woman has been beaten, is in a coma, is getting divorced, her father in law died... (but there are no conspiracy theories in this thread!).

Those are neither malicious nor conspiracies.

This is crazy! Why in the world is Russia doing this? Sorry to say, but the death of a monach is not really globally relevant, in terms of geo-strategic scheming. Life (and war in Ukraine) will go on. Or are they just bored and like messing with people?

Well, King Charles is one of the last remaining Romanov descendants (seriously). Could all be part of the plan to reestablish the Russian Empire.

No. They want to sow in the West distrust of institutions like BP.

BP is irrelevant though. Does not seem worth the effort.

The BRF is one of the pillars of Western history. It is absolutely worth the effort.

I thought it could go away tomorrow and the money used for better things? They would be fine, just like France.

True, Buckingham Palace could even remain as a historical landmark open for touring since some posters seem to attribute all tourism dollars to the monarchy. They'd be better off making J.K. Rowling queen

But again, the BP doesn't really do anything, so...who cares? I don't buy that it's destabilizing in the least. Plus there's a suitable monarch in waiting, anyway. We just went through this, remember?

It’s not about the BP per se. it’s about the idea that a formal and respected intuition releases a statement and you reject it for no reason other than distrust in said institution.

True, yes. But they had nothing to do with the photo debacle. So also believable that the Form hires UK trolls to post online.

Fraternite, egalite, liberte?

The UK is not France. I'm not sure if you are kidding or if you're just that clueless.

To sow distrust in formal institutions in the West.

This is exactly the reason.

Well we now have proof they hired Twitter bots. From some of the posts here they may have also hired middle schoolers with terrible reading comprehension.

DP#2. Absolutely, the worst insults, not to mention pee pee poo poo jokes, are coming from the Disney Princess crowd.

That’s what people have been saying for years particularly the anti monarchy crowd.

It is appalling how the BRF blames women for everything. Plus, horrible media that wants to give space to Kate, but tore Meghan apart.

Curiously it always comes back to Meghan even the most outlandish twitter rumors.

The BRF treats women horribly.
