In my neighborhood around three or four homes sold to young couples in their 30s. All in the 900k to 1.3 million range. Usual looking couple, he with a beard and a hoodie and her a bit artsy.
Weird part is they all have newer Chevys, Cruz, Malibu, Traverse etc. The 40s- 60s crowd all have BMWs, Mercedes etc. Is it cause they are broke from home purchase and Chevy has very cheap lease/loan deals? Is is they are uber/metro generation and dont really care about cars and just bought a cheap car to go A to B, or is it some hipster thing buy a Chevy and live in a million dollar home. |
| I had a 1.2 million home and drove a Honda. What does that say about me? |
| They are reasonably priced. Mine's a lemon and I would not recommend them. |

Ehh I live in a nice neighborhood (million dollar homes) and the majority of my neighbors drive VWs, Hondas, Mazdas and Toyotas. I think people just don't care about cars because their money is in their houses.
My friends who live in townhouse communities have fancy cars like BMWs, Mercedes, Teslas and Audi. The difference is crazy. |
| I figured you meant the Tex Mex restaurant...so...yes |
Yes. |
Yup. "The Millionaire Next Door" personified. The wealthy drive Fords and Toyota's. |
| We have a Ford and a Cadillac. SUV's. My husband likes Ford and I prefer Cadillac. We do not like to spend a lot of money on vehicles, and we never buy new. Everyone has different priorities. |

Both of those are pretty pricy in less you got them used. I'm looking at explorers and most of the decent ones are high 30's-40's. |
| The truly rich don’t flaunt it. |
| I live in a pretty wealthy hood and see LOADS of Hondas and Toyotas, and some VWs and Mazdas (in addition to the higher end European brands) but pretty much NEVER see Fords or Chevys. It’s weird. |
Yep. Nothing to prove. |
Actually I take that back. I occasionally see a Suburban or Tahoe. But for the basic non-fancy sedan drivers, it’s always Accords, Camrys, and Passats. Small suvs are Crvs or Rav-4s. Never Taurus, Impala, Equinox, etc. |

The line between luxury and non is pretty thin anymore. It's not like it used to be when there was a marked difference. But today when you step into any car, it feels luxurious. Leather, fancy trim, big screen with nav, heated seats.
The only reason to get a luxury brand now is to show that you've made it. |
