CES - Bus Routes

Anonymous
Does anyone have the bus routes for the CES programs I found the morning bus routes in the attached link under Magnet schools. For whatever reason they do not have the afternoon routes. I am specifically interested in Chevy Chase elementary.

Thank you

The Chevy Chase school website has this posted for the Center bus routes:

WJ currently does not attend CCES CES; those will be a mystery until August.

There are bus routes on this site under the tab 'magnet schools.' The Chevy Chase route on the website includes WJ.

I don't know why they don't post the afternoon magnet bus routes. E-mail the depot and ask for them. Maybe if enough people ask, they will post the afternoon magnet bus routes too.

For the regular bus routes, the afternoon ones are usually the same as the morning bus routes, right? so no need to post them.

If you can't find them on the MCPS site, often the school websites have them.

But routes are subject to change, so you can only get a general idea about next year's routes until, probably, right before school starts in the fall. Ours have been roughly the same for the last couple of years, but lots of things are in a state of flux right now, so there's no guarantee they'll be the same next year.

Wow - some of those kids are on a bus at 7:45am for a 9:30 school start time?

Does that mean if dismissals is at 4pm, they aren’t getting home until close to 6pm?

Just terrible. Gotta love how MCPS treats their best students.

It includes WJHS as a stop, (could be because that bus also provides transportation to Rock Creek Forest Immersion or there may be SN kids?) but not WJ cluster.

Transportation will have to add WJ cluster students (from six elementary schools) into their route analysis to optimize existing routes and add new routes as necessary. It will be a while ...

Is it your opinion that MCPS's "best students" should get express bus service, because after all they're the best?

If you don't like the bus trips, then keep your kid at your home school.

I don't think mcps lists afternoon arrival times. I think you have to look at time between morning stops to estimate when your child's bus will arrive in the afternoons.

This year's routes are not next year's routes. Some of the feeder patterns are changing (CCES, Pinecrest/Oak View) and so the bus schedules will also change.

True. Only the worst students should be stuck on the bus.

they need more centers, not all on one side of a 500 sq mile county riddled with traffic congestion. Absolutely shows how much they care.

We're a CES family this year, and the afternoon routes are not the same as the morning.
