Does that mean if dismissals is at 4pm, they aren’t getting home until close to 6pm?

Just terrible. Gotta love how MCPS treats their best students.

True. Only the worst students should be stuck on the bus.

they need more centers, not all on one side of a 500 sq mile county riddled with traffic congestion. Absolutely shows how much they care.

Yes, I hate it how Charles Drew ES, Chevy Chase ES, Cold Spring ES, and Clearspring ES are all on the same side of the county.

For the regular bus routes, the afternoon ones are usually the same as the morning bus routes, right? so no need to post them.

We're a CES family this year, and the afternoon routes are not the same as the morning.

We have different routes in AM & PM, too. My CES kid is on the bus for 15 minutes in the morning, and about 40 in the afternoon, with a different order of stops in the morning and afternoon.

They don't usually post arrival times for afternoon, only the times they leave the school (not always the same as the dismissal time—ours leaves school about 10 minutes later). Over the last two years, our bus has arrived at the neighborhood school anywhere between 4:20 and 4:50, depending on traffic, or if the middle and high school routes ran late.

Is it your opinion that MCPS's "best students" should get express bus service, because after all they're the best?

If you don't like the bus trips, then keep your kid at your home school.

No bitch. They should be able to stay at their own schools for enrichment like 99% of the US population does including Fairfax, Howard, etc...

What are the Level IV AAP centers then?

My CES kid would be on the bus 45 minutes in the morning and is on for 20 minutes in the afternoon. So we drive in the morning in a carpool.

Sure. Which side of the county are Roberto Clemente MS, Martin Luther King MS, Takoma Park MS, and Eastern MS on? How about Poolesville HS, Richard Montgomery HS, and Blair HS?

I don't know, NE, NW, SE or SW? which one has the MS and which ones have the HS?

Uggh. I am so stressed out about the bus uncertainty. We’re one of the schools that just got transferred into CCES. My husband and I both work and we have two other kids we have to get to school so I don’t know that driving will be an option. I’m not sure why msps needs to wait until August to run the bus algorithms.

Is beforecare and option? We'll have one at our home school and one at a CES, and our beforecare provider will just put the CES kids on the bus.

Hi everyone,

Do we need to register to take the bus to CES at Chevy Chase, or do we just show up at the stop (or any of the stops?), smile, and jump on?

Also, parents are divorced so we have two different homes with ostensible different bus stops.

I saw that one of you posted a GoogleDoc which is great but it's for 2017-2018. Would be thrilled if you have an updated one so I know we're going to the right place tomorrow.

Happy new school year to all of you.

Thanks so much -- new to the bus in general, the school, and of course the program!
