McIntire first-year salaries...
The average annual base salary for the undergraduate Class of 2017 is $72,297; the median annual base salary is $75,000.

Plus Signing Bonus...
The average signing bonus for the undergraduate Class of 2017 is $9,261.

Plus Annual Bonus...
The average estimated annual bonus is $22,271.

On what planet are the elites privates worth it over McIntire? Show me any data from an elite that surpasses this.

This is a very philistine way of looking at things.

I'm a big supporter of public education and think that UVA is great, but why on earth do there need to be so many threads on the school?

Wow - I find this $75,000 salary surprisingly low against the UVA Law median of $180,000. I thought the salaries would be a little closer.

mcintire is the undergrad b school.

darden is the mba - but it won't be 180 median. no b school will have median salaries that high.

Why are you so bothered that other people might not share your opinion about this?

Why are you so seriously insecure?

Who gets a “business” degree for undergrad?

Agree. The sole cheerleader of this school posts here multiple times a day. Getting old

Is that wrong? If college was free, maybe we should look at it another way (whatever that may be). Since they are practially robbing your wallet to "educate" your kid, the only way to look at the value on that investment is the return.

Let's face, it I can learn most of the crap that a college can teach me for free on a MOOC or on the internet. The only reason I'd go to a college is for the pedigree and the resultant salary.

Lots of students do. Many go to Wall Street and become analysts before applying to go to get their MBA then become investment bankers. Or they go into consulting. Both very lucrative careers.

Interesting post, OP. I have long thought that only Wharton undergrad is better than UVA business undergrad. UVA is a fabulous school.

What kind of kids go for a business undergrad?

Genuine question since the discussions (on DCUM and outside around this area) seem to be focused on STEM or Biological fields (code for pre-med).

Do a lot of STEM kids go to business school at UVA? For instance, of the 100+ TJ kids that go there, how many go to the business school vs. Eng./BIO/CS?

Clarify. "B" as in Business or "B" as in their grade?
