I am so confused by why Joe Alwyn is seen as some Pultizer Prize winning intellect or artist. He is a D list actor who did not have the self-confidence to maturely manage his girlfriend's success and fame. He also allegedly struggles from mental health issues.

I'm not dragging him or rooting against him. I just don't understand why he's almost always assumed as more intellectual and creative than Travis Kelce. What is the evidence? He's not really distinguished himself in acting or fashion. I agree that he's pretty but he might also be pretty dumb.

The average American will never take Calculus in their lives, or read the classics, cannot point Europe on a map or tell you when World War I or II stated or ended. Most midwestern jocks will do worse than even that. In contrast, Europeans cover all this and a ton more by middle of high school.

Wow. American Football is great. And it is the most intellectual of sports. Baseball is next. Football is not played by overweight men. The lineman may be overweight, not any others. Certainly Travis is not. The brain issue is an issue but reseach shown is not an issue for 95% of the people that play the game at a pro level. Quite popular in the UK and in Germany and there will be teams there in the next 10 years. A lot of athletes are dumb. Some football players are dumb but even they are quite smart. Pro football requires every player to know just based on a set of code words over 1,000 plays that are possible in each game. No one plays pro football and is that dumb.

Why is this a Europe vs US thing? There really is not that much difference between average people everywhere.

I'm the same age as Travis, and I grew up in a tiny town in northern Ohio with a crappy school system. I was still able to take AP Calculus, AP American history, AP European history, AP Literature, and AP Chemistry and I scored well on all the AP tests. I was also a varsity athlete and played my sport in college. I don't know why you are determined to think that Travis did not get a proper education.....

Yes in fact I do listen to the podcast. He definitely brings more levity to the show but when it comes time to explaining how plays work, how they’re developed, what it means for the game, etc. if you’ll notice he always does a better job than Jason does.

Yes I’ve listened a little and watched his brother’s documentary. He has an extremely high EQ. I find his self deprecating humor about his dyslexia a model for kids with LDs.

My point wasn't that he was an excellent football player (which he is). My point is that he communicates the intricacies of the sport extremely well. There's a segment called no dumb questions, where fans ask about the rules, the why's, etc. He explains it all much better than Jason does. Matty is a drug addict, and Joe is an unsuccessful actor. Not exactly winners and probably exhausting to date. Travis is fun, publicly supportive of Taylor, and already one of the best in his field. I’d choose Travis too.

This. I really do not think Matty and Joe are the bastions of worldliness and sophisticated because they happen to be white and have British accents.

Joe, despite his entertainment industry connections has not been successful in his acting career. In interviews his demeaner is pretentious and he withholds information as if he is too good for the entertainment industry. He was also too insecure and threatened by Taylor's brilliance and success. Matty is....Matty. He is a hot mess and its ludicrious to him him serious consideration as husband material.

Travis is self assured, fun, hard working AND mega successful in his chosen profession. He adores Taylor and is happy to entertain her fans and support her. He is a huge upgrade.
