This woman seated between two obese people is awful but so are they for not buying the extra seat.

+1. Bring back regulation. The truth is that air passengers are the ultimate root cause of all this, not the airlines. Profit margins are razor thin and the great majority of passengers shop only on price. You get what you pay for, and this is what we get.

The only reason the black obese lady started recording the blonde was because she knew what she was saying in English. I'm Vietnamese by birth and if all the white ladies what the Vietnamese ladies are sayinga bout them in the nail salons, there would be race riots LOL.

Trust me, it’s super obvious when the nail techs are talking about you. Doesn’t matter what language. That’s why I don’t go to those strip mall nail places. Too much rudeness.

+1

I know people who speak in their language assuming that the third party does not know what they are saying. Guess what? My friend is white and chimed in with the other language once, not a dialect either, and perfect accent. Just because someone doesn't "look" like they speak the language, does not mean that they do not speak the language. I think more people should be aware of this. Or not, fi you don't care for their business anyway - in which case, that makes you racist.

They’re scrubbing my feet for low wages. If they want to call me names I don’t care. I’ll tip them anyway.

Same. Would YOU want to do that work day in and day out for minimum wage?

This thread is awful. I am morbidly obese and I fly often. I always buy a second seat for my comfort as well as other folks around me. I also always sit in the front row because I'm tall and need the leg room. On more than one occasion folks have gotten annoyed when I've said the seat next to me is reserved. Or my favorite when someone takes the aisle seat and plops their crap on my seat.

With all that said there are better ways to talk to people. I already know that I am fat, I don't need anyone to tell me. I see myself every day.

You shouldn’t say the seat is “reserved”, you should say “actually, I purchased that seat”. Saying that it’s reserved implies that you saw it was empty and decided that you would be using it for your personal benefit for the flight. It’s something the entitled people being discussed on this thread would say, and I’d probably be annoyed too. Purchasing it is another thing.

Fair point. The airline prints out a boarding pass that actually says "reserved" on it.
I'll keep that in mind next time. Thanks

Oh crap. I was seated next to an obese lady and I had a lap infant. I let my son sit in the middle seats for a few minutes or I put the diaper bag there. I honestly thought the seat was free and the lady was smiling at us. She wasn’t big enough to take up 2 seats. There were plenty of open seats on the flight.

If she was smiling she probably didn't mind. If a lap child sat in my extra seat I wouldn't care. I probably take an inch of the second seat. It's usually folks with paperwork.

At the end of the day flying sucks for everyone. Especially for fat folks. Starting with tsa pulling you to the side to make sure there isn't a bomb under your belly to people sometimes giving you looks, to children loudly exclaiming you're hugeit costs nothing to be kind.

To be honest the country would be better off if it was more reflective of Boulder Colorado.

High iq and fit.

Being even slightly overweight will get you looks in Boulder.

Boulder may also be one of the whitest places on earth. I love Boulder, but it's a fantasy-land.
