Anonymous wrote:"Opalite" is about Travis's ex girlfriend he dated for five years? It's so gross to be a billionaire with this sort of platform attacking a random middle class Black woman who dated your fiancé.

Because she’s insecure even though she shouldn’t be. Travis would never leave her money and fame for some middle class rando.

She has at least two disses for black women.

Charli XCX
Ex gf of Travis

It's gross. And, with the ex gf, Taylor is punching down on a woman who does not have a big platform or all the money that TS has. It's not a good look. It's actually like something Trump would do.

Charli:

Oh, my bad. Taylor is attacking brown women of Indian descent and black women. Glad we have that clarified.

DP. So, just to be clear, it’s not ok to criticize someone if they happen to be a POC? Only white people are fair game? GTFO with that nonsense. No one is buying it anymore.

Yeah, I never get the criticism here. Any show, any book, any movie, any music we listen to it’s all about people figuring their crap out.

“ I’ve been in therapy for years and I’m finally figuring out how to own my own stuff and not rely on other people to meet needs I am responsible for meeting on my own” is great in real life but we want to see that journey not just hear about the destination.

This is not a People magazine cover story. It’s an album.

If people want to like her for her pettiness and vengefulness, I get that. I’m glad some of her fans are owning up to that because they used to berate/insult anyone who called her that. I guess they are maturing? I DO have a problem with someone who is consistently punching down and using vengeance as a platform being called a “good role model” for young girls. I can only see that being a plus if you want to perpetuate mean girl culture.

Anything Taylor does would be seen as punching down. She’s helped many of these young artists and they turn around and crap on her but somehow Taylor’s the one who’s not the girls girl.

What young artists has she helped because she’s a girls girl? She helped Sabrina because she was threatened by Olivia Rodrigo. Threatened by Billie Eilish. Obviously Katy Perry thing(who sucks so whatever).

You think she’s HELPING these young pop singers? lol. No, she’s an old cringy “cool mom” trying to orbit younger and hipper women. It’s desperation to try to make herself look youthful and hip. Like a 5th year frat bro trying to hang out with freshmen at a dorm party.

You missed the point of the album. Life of a show girl clearly shows she's now the older, icon leaving the pop world in the younger hands (she picked it up from Brittney, now giving it to Sabrina). She acknowledges that she's not the hip one in eldest daughter. She's not trying to make herself look youthful and hip whatsoever.

The point of this cheesy half-baked album and all of its variations was to milk $$$ from her fanatical middle aged fan base. Gen Z isn't checking for her.

My Gen Z daughter and all her friends certainly are. You seem extremely out of touch.

Comments like these is why people think some of you are in a cult of personality.Whi the hell are these young artists she's supposedly helped ??? I swear some of you aren't capable of embarrassment .

I’m the person you’re quoting here and I’m actually not some massive Taylor fan but ok if you don’t think Taylor hasn’t helped, or tried to help, young artists.

Two comments from you on Taylor supposedly helping young artists and, inexplicably, you can't name ONE single artist she has 'helped'.

She doesn't help other artists. She uses them for clout. Sometimes she'll "share the spotlight" with artists like Ice spice or Lana del Ray, but she's not investing in their careers or putting them front and center. It's Taylor's world and she's always queen bee.

Why is investing in someone's career required for "helping"? She isn't a record label. She doesn't have a stable of musicians that she's promoting - it's not her job. Just standing on the same stage as Taylor Swift raises interest and internet traffic in an artist's brand - which is helpful for every artist that does it.

Gracie Abrams and Sabrina Carpenter would certainly agree! Plus, how many young artists has say, Beyoncé helped? Cardi B?

To pretend she's content with some idiot American football jock and his flyover prole family is laughable. That's why every time she's with him, his family, and/or his social circle she's got booze in her hand. She's miserable af.

She has no depth and is an industry plant. The beef with Bieber’s manager Scooter was 100% a fake ruse to re-sell all of her old songs to her gullible fans. Her fans are truly hopeless cattle.

Don’t forget to throw in “astroturfed,” you boring, tiresome, repetitive troll!

She is hilarious and does a spot on impersonation of Carrie Coon from The Gilded Age:

I love the new album!
It is funny how the president of the US tweeted that he hates her yet she has beef with random no name Charlie. Why won't she address the elephant in the room?

Just factually, Charli is not white. She is half Indian.

Yeah I agree this album feels very tone deaf to this moment, sorry. I'm glad she is happy and making bank but I can't get excited about her anymore.

+1. Actually Romantic could’ve been a great song if she tweaked just a couple of lyrics to throw shade at Trump’s tweets or haters in general. She has one of the largest platforms in the world and could bring awareness to all sorts of issues, yet she uses it for inconsequential drivel. At least heartbroken Taylor used to write beautifully wistful love songs that people could relate to.

Why pick Beyonce other than your weird obsession with race? They don’t even make the same type of music.

That said Beyonce is notorious with trying to use her star power to manipulate younger artists to sign not great deals with ROC Nation.

The “you must be romantically interested in me because you’re such a hater” is just so trite and overused. It’s not even good writing.

Because she doesn’t want to alienate MAGA as consumers of her mid music but Charli barely has any fans.

Kinda agree. Also it’s clear from how she talks about him she knows he’s an idiot. I can’t imagine that cutting it for her long term. She loves drama and he’s a simpleton.
