He was an 8th grader

They probably had to establish residency because of the new verification process put in place to “catch” kids at the MS and HS transition points. Still, that’s a lot of years of fraud beforehand. I don’t think they got paid.

They'll be establishing residency in Great Falls once APS cuts that check.

Keep dreaming. Mom is going to be establishing residency in county jail once APS and the judge get a hold of her fraud.

Nah, it’ll be Potomac. She’d be a good fit for the TV franchise given her grift.

+1. I’d like some of what you’re smoking. Arlington doesn’t prosecute murders let alone fraud.

More likely to be caught for the questionable money handling at the daycare. Just ask any former board member.

So, more than nine months have passed since the cotton ball incident in question and still no signs of a lawsuit or settlement payment. Will NAACP ever acknowledge that this was a nothing-burger?

I can’t believe I forgot about this until now, but several years back - 5 to 10? - there was another manufactured cotton crisis. Perhaps this has already been mentioned upthread.

Cotton was among several plants that were going to be added to a long list of things already grown in an elementary school garden program.

Someone got word of it and tweeted that APS was “making kids pick cotton” or something similar. If I recall correctly, APS shut down the debate by just removing the cotton from the plans, while maintaining that the accusations were completely off base and ridiculous.

Can I get paid?

When I was 10 I was part of a play at Hunters Woods Elementary in Reston where we did a skit on Civil War camps and I was a Confederate soldier singing Dixie ..Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton, old times there are not forgotten, look away, look away Dixie land...

And I'm mixed race AA and Korean.

Is there a staute on these things?

Yep, I called it as soon as the NAACP sent out a press release while 99% of this thread were in fantasy land claiming this lawsuit would go nowhere.
