You won't know the exact amount of the settlement but can sort of get an idea when the budget is released and you see big legal/insurance expenses.

There’s no settlement. If there were, Justin Fairfax and NAACP would be shouting it from the rooftops. Instead, this “case” will die a silent death and there will be no further updates.

I hope so.

Same, but I wouldnt be surprised if there was a payout, but all parties had to sign an NDA stipulating no victory lap because of the public backlash it would cause.

Doesn’t the community deserve to know whether APS is acknowledging wrongdoing or not? The premise of the claim initially struck me as absurd, but the NAACP came out loudly in support of the complainant, Justin Fairfax signed on as counsel, and those factors were enough for me to at least entertain the possibility that there was merit to the claim. And now I’m back to thinking it was a money grab, but I’m also left wondering if APS now considers it racist to use cotton balls as a classroom supply. Eventually there need to be some answers even if details of any settlement aren’t disclosed.

I wonder if it could be released through a FOIA request?

Did Keisha retire from the day care? Did she finally get VA plates?

Where would the money come from? If it were significant, wouldn't it be a line item in the budget?

Rumor I heard - and I emphasize "rumor" - is that they are now Virginia residents.
Still, they better not have gotten any money. If they did, it better not have been much. I do think the taxpaying community has a right to know.

I think they're celebrating the new principal and removal of the former principal.

Cotton is definitely racist in APS now that someone filed a lawsuit. It's how public schools work

It was super interesting to me that Duran picked that school of all schools to go to first thing on the first day. Doesn't look accidental.

He visited most (if not all) schools this week. He does it every year
