So what during that long meeting convinced Trump not to fire Rosen and elevate Clark? I think it was that the news of the Georgia letter falsely claiming fraud that Clark would send would be subsumed by the news that the entire Justice Department had resigned.

Jim Jordan “talked about pardons for members of Congress but never asked for one.”
Brooks also asked for pardons for “every Congressman and Senator who voted to reject the electoral votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania.”

They talked to every member of DOJ leadership and all agreed to resign. They had to ask the AAG for National Security if he would stay since that was too important to decapitate.

You are aware that most DOJ lawyers are not political appointees, right? And most high level appointees (AAG and DAAG) werent going to tank their future biglaw partnership prospects on some batshit insane conspiracy mongering. They already had a foot out the door.
