KLM/Lufthansa/Air France

Any difference between these airlines that would make you choose one over the other two for a trip to Europe?

KLM by a mile.

Any OTHER than KLM by a mile. I like Air France, although they do tend to be grumpy. Nicer planes, better food, free champagne. Just in my experience; it’s probaby route dependent. The KLM flight I took didn’t even have a way to charge your electronics and the food was crapz

I always love KLM. Air France is polished but snooty service (surprise surprise). Haven't flown Lufthansa but hear it's fantastic.

Air France and KLM are pretty equivalent in my experience, I fly to Europe 5-6x/yr. Are you in business class?

Where to? Not enough difference between them to take a one-stop flight over a non-stop.

All things being equal I would go with Lufthansa on economy, especially if you have to connect and can do it in Munich. Best airport to connect at. Paris is awful, Frankfurt not great, and Amsterdam very good but Munich is the best.

But they are all similar enough in economy that I would just go with the best price/schedule.

In business if you can get on the 777, Air France is the clear leader. Don't take the A380, those are the old style loungers. The 777 has the awesome individual pods that lay flat.

KLM also has the Dreamliner (777); agree this is the best choice if schedule and budget allow, regardless of carrier.

The Dreamliner is the 787.

All of the planes running from Dulles on Lufthansa, KLM and Air France are nice modern planes. Very little difference in economy.

I love Air France of the three - to my palate, it has the best food but YMMV. If you are flying business, I find the service warm and CdG not troublesome for connections.

Second choice is Lufthansa - most efficient service and most efficient connections.

KLM is fine, but I’d prefer the other two first.

Depends on your destination. I always prefer a nonstop, so I usually fly Air France to CDG. Plus for France Air France always gets priority if there delays or issues at the airport.

All three are struggling and their planes are getting old and tired. I'd avoid all three of them unless there is no better alternative.

Went through Munich last week. Only one set of toilets was open with 50 people in line for four stalls. Lufthansa security staff were very surly as opposed to Schiphol security who are very efficient while still being extremely polite.

No snark intended, what is your preferred airline to Europe then?
Anonymous
KLM because I prefer Amsterdam as a hub.
