Dang. Looks like prep resistant test does make a difference.

The numb in applicant’s is not a surprise. This was the big AAP class that came in during the CogAT scandal.

Their numbers look a lot better than they usually do. And before you yell, I mean that the admitted pool is a better reflection of the applicant pool. It always bugs me to see close to 50% of applicants are women, but then have 40% of admittees be women. They did better there this year too. AA and FARMs are the places admission was not more representative.

Marginal increase in women and strong increase in whites. Wish the numbers were better for Blacks and Hispanics (thought Hispanic numbers did show an uptick from 8 to 23).

As an Asian parent, I'd like to see a lot more diversity at TJ.

I wish my kid never went there.....he’s leaving as soon as he can,

If your child has any history of anxiety or depression DO NOT SEND HIM/HER THERE.

Nysmith usually.

+1. They usually come as one or two kids from a bunch of private schools. Plus a homeschool student or 2. . Nysmith the the only private that ever has enough kids to get them over tsthreshhold— too small a number of students to report for privacy reasons. Some years they are over, some years they are not.

Nysmith has a large number of Asian students and they target TJ.

Now that we have Basis in McLean with a lot of Chinese kids, you will see them making a beeline to TJ as well...although I know a couple of parents that went the other way, pulled kids out of TJ to go to Basis.

Wow, I wish they switched the test up every year. Something unpreparable would be so much better for everyone. Think of all the time and stress wasted on TJ prep study, classes.

Honestly, I don't understand why race has to factor in where academics and merits are the criteria for admission!!

So much for encouraging girls into STEM.
