What do you do when husband travels for work?

No kids. No friends.

Don't you have a job? Family or work friends, errands to run, going to the gym/for a run, a book to read or a hobby? Are you co-dependent?

Do what your husband does - find someone who is the opposite sex who wants meaningless sex. The good news is that you won't have to pay for it like hubby.

Before I had kids (and I was new to area so no friends) I LOVED when my husband went away. I binge-watched video on demand (stuff he had no interest in), got mani pedis, spent lots of time at the gym, sat on the couch and ate mac and cheese, spent large swaths of time on my hair, clothes shopping, and/ or organizing my closets. I felt no guilt. Now that I have two preschoolers and my husband does not travel as much, I MISS those days. Cherish them!! (Even friend free.)

I take it you're the same OP who just posted about being stuck in life. While your husband is away, join acitivities of interest. Make friends there. You sound very resigned to "this sucks" vs "I'm going to change it".

What are your interests?

Wine and trashy tv. Same as I do with kids.

Deep clean the house. Organize. Skip cooking and finish off leftovers. At home - color and highlight my hair, wax (arms, legs, Brazilian), facial, full body massage and scrub, mani-pedi.
Change something around the house that I know will make my DH happy when he comes home. Plan a nice meal for when he comes back. Buy some naughty lingerie for when he comes back.

Gym, cooking classes, art, friends, basically anything!

I loved to binge watch tv, order in food, drink wine pre-kids. I also took cooking and calligraphy classes in the evenings, joined a political organization and alumni group and attended their evening events/cocktail parties, joined a philanthropy organization of women so I could mentor homeless youth in a structured program. I suggest trying out some new hobbies or clubs and seeing if you can make friends.

I love it when DH travels for work because I can eat cereal for dinner and watch only the shows I like. Plus I can lounge around in a robe all day and not feel guilty.

I miss him quite a lot. He has been gone for a week now and I am actually sad. When my kids grow up, I will join him in his travels. Thankfully he travels very infrequently.

I LOVE IT! I watch TV in bed. I eat breakfast for dinner, hog the whole bed, keep the house orderly. I also have kids, a dog, a job, and friends. I do not have to wait around for him to entertain me.
