We typically rent a condo, but we are thinking of just doing a couple of days mid-week in a hotel in OC Md.
Requirements: Must have 2 QUEEN beds (not doubles) On the boardwalk/walking to restaurants Clean/modern Can you recommend a hotel for us? |
|
Also: Must have a pool (preferably outdoor, but indoor is o.k. too.)
Bonus points if it has a changing/shower station outside. |
| Look at Hilton suites. |
|
Clean/modern eliminates almost everything on the boardwalk.
Check out Hilton or the Courtyard Marriott. You'll pay for it though. |
Willing to pay for it. Only staying 2-3 nights for a short beach get-away in the summer. Anyone been to the Crystal Hotel? Around 25th. Hilton looks awesome... although it's a few blocks away from the boardwalk. But, a definite contender. |
| You do realize for what you pay for 2 nights in these mediocre hotels you could go to much nice places elsewhere? |
|
it does not exist
|
no. Actually, I don't! Please advise. |

| We love the Grand Hotel. Right on the boardwalk and walking distance to fish tales & mini golf. Indoor and outdoor pool. Big rooms. Cheaper than Hilton. |
| Op here: question... when you stay at a hotel on the beach, do they provide towels for pool and beach or do you bring your own? I'm so used to the condo rentals where we bring all of our beach and bath towels as well as sheets. Just wondering how little we need to pack! |
| The Hilton even mid week is $500-ish a night. So for $1k plus the crazy expensive (but terrible) food in OC, you're looking at close to $1500 for 48 hours. You could rent a condo for a week for that much and just buy the same groceries you do at home (not that you want to eat the same way on vacation - but the cost could be comparable to not going away) |
we are aware of the cost. We have stayed in condos for 10+ years. We don't want a week anymore. We don't want to drag our sheets/towels for a miniweek. Thanks for your concern. We are looking for a shorter 2-3 day beach stay at a hotel that is ocean front, in good condition and has 2 queen beds, near restaurants. We don't want to drive 5 hrs for a short beach trip. So, that means OC rather than VA Beach. |
| The Hilton meets all your requirements except for being right on the boardwalk. But it has two pools, separate bedrooms in the suites, and a well-equipped full kitchen. Definitely the best in OC. |
| It's cheaper to fly and stay in Mexico than OC and Mexico is more fun! |
