We just got back from touring UC-Santa Cruz which my DD loved because it is tucked away in the woods and so close to nature. We are planning to go see U. vermont but can anyone recommend any other campuses like this they may have toured? I am such a city girl and went to school in NYC so I don't really have places like this on my radar.
What major does your DD hope to study?
Possibly psychology but I would say undecided at this point.
Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY
Are we talking "in the middle of nowhere" with a few trees but fields or water is fine like St Mary's college of Maryland or does she wants lots of trees but would be willing to put up with surrounding suburbia like say University of Colorado, Boulder?
|
St. Mary's College of Maryland is actually quite woodsy where it is not surrounded by water.
Also maybe Ithaca and Juniata |
UWisconsin Madison
Williams, Ithaca, Cornell
Mount Holyoke. My daughter said upon arriving that it felt exactly like her summer camp in the woods
I was thinking Boulder. My son is there he is very happy.
Yes, Boulder is awesome. Maybe Oregon?
Duke has its own research forest!
Sewanee? (University of the South)
+1 on SMCM |
Campuses I remember off hand having a lot of trees - Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Swarthmore, Vassar, Kenyon, William & Mary
