| Just curious to know what alternative plans folks have for preK-3 kiddos that have high waitlist numbers? |
| Stay where we are now. |
| I should clarify in saying those planning to enter Pre-K3 2018-19SY |
| Stay with our current daycare. |
| Add more schools and try to be open-minded. |
|
Check out the Enhanced PreK program options listed here -- scroll to the bottom of the page.

Not sure. We're deciding among (1) a low-performing public school; (2) a private school we can't really afford; or (3) keeping him at home another year (even though he clearly needs more social contact with kids his age).
I strongly dislike all of those options, but none of them are utterly horrible. And at least we have options (2) and (3), which makes us more fortunate than a lot of people. |
| Private school in Chevy Chase |

DC parks & rec coop. not ideal, but better than nothing

| private school |
| SAHM and will truck across town for a free option in the second round. |
| close down Ellington and install PK-3 for all WOTP with proof of Ward 3 residence. |
| We got matched to Friendship Armstrong (admittedly our safety), and I think historically they don’t have much of a waitlist (and taken everyone from it). I’m honestly not sure why more people don’t grab it for ECE. Their Reggio program looks like an amazing, creative, and thoughtfully-designed experience. anway, if people are looking for post-lottery adds, you might want to consider Armstrong. They have an open house April 11. |
| This was us last year and we did Langley as a post-lottery add. It has been fine. Consider it if you live nearby! |
I was really open minded and got shut out from multiple low performing DCPS schools including ones that had no waitlist last year. |
