I do some weights/cardio a few nights a week (finish up around 10) and then I’m hungry. Is it advisable to snack at that late hour? Or wait until the morning? Truth is I just love to eat so I wonder if I’m overdoing it. Thanks.
I usually finish my workout around 8. I rarely eat more than a bite or two of food while I am packing my lunch for the next day. Sometimes I will have a glass or two of wine. Before my workout, I usually eat a banana and maybe a few nuts. That being said, my trainer says that about a half hour after a workout, it's good to have a bit of protein.
I usually work out at 9-10pm, and go to sleep 1-2am. I do eat in between then.

Absolutely. I don't like eating before working out, and preferably on an empty stomach. So after a workout, I'm ravenous.
But your body is different. I think it's fine to eat after if that's what your body needs. |
If your workout is at all intense, you absolutely need to have have something afterwards to maximize gains. Doesn't have to be a lot, but a protein shake or something with at least 20 grams of protein would do the trick. I'd wake up nauseated AF if I tried to workout at night and didn't eat after.
I'll usually have a grapefruit or other fruit with some yogurt, or a cheese stick/some other protein. I think it helps so I'm not starving the next day.
