Anonymous
My son Navid past away on December 9th, 2017. As of today we have not heard anything from the police that are suppose to be working on this case and keeping the case open. We are really after the answer of what really happened to Navid? before the time he got to the party ? During the party ? and after ? I know some of the kids know something that can help us to get to the bottom of this . If you know someone whos kids attended the party a friend that did, just to let us know what was going inside the house and where did they got the alcohol from? Was it served in the house ? Things don't look right to me! something must of happened to Navid!!! The information given is Anonymous and no one will be in trouble .I just need to find the answer for my family to start to hill.

I'm very sorry for you loss. I thought there was a clear information that the older kids had visited a liquor store that evening. Later that night they went to a house of one of Navid's friends whose younger sibling was having a party that was alcohol free. When it was discovered the older boys brought alcohol they were asked to leave.

I hope you find the answers you seek and I wish you and your family peace.

That was supposed to be a frowning face. Not a question mark. So sorry.

This is the story the host family is telling. I have not believed it and continue not to believe it.

I am very sorry for your loss of Navid. I don’t know Navid or your family but I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing and the lack of cooperation from the police. As the parent of a 16 year old, my heart goes out to you. I hope that you will find the answers you need to begin the healing process.

I am just hoping one of the kids or there parents that know something about this can honestly come out and talk.

Sorry for your loss. We don't have any children in Whitman yet, but we live a few streets over from you. I think in a news article back when it happened, you stated vodka was purchased at a store on River Road. Note that in MoCo, the only place vodka can be purchased is county liquor stores, so the only ones near River Road are at Westbard (next to the Giant) and at Potomac Village. Maybe that will be of some help to narrow things down.

I think you may want to get a lawyer to pressure MCPD. My dealings with MCPD have always been good, but they do have a new chief of our local (2D) station -- Falcinelli moved on. Falcinelli was great, but I don't know about the new guy. If I had to guess, I'd say the union pressured them to close ranks, though it's a good sign they did release body camera footage instead of hiding it.

If you want a hard-charging lawyer, the one who defended the Rockville HS rape suspects (forgot his name.. can look it up if you like.. starts with a J as I recall) or even the notorious lawyer and current County Exec candidate Robin Ficker may be good as they can deal with the press well.

If you want to take a lighter approach, ,contact Bethesda Magazine (Bethesda Beat) as this story is right up their alley, and they've had some slow news days lately so they'd be eager to write up more on this and that will definitely pressure MCPD.

Keep in mind that investigations do take time. You probably remember the crash on River Road that took teh life of a Whitman student and his parents last year. It took a FOIA request by the Washington Post to get the results of the accident investigation by CRU (collision reconstruction) -- they don't release it by default.

Andrew Jezic is the lawyer the PP is referring to. Good call.

OP just want to say I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you find some answers. I think most of us in this area with teens read about your son's death and your search for and finding him and thought how easily it could have been one of ours.

I saw how the death of my sister affected my parents - you never expect a child to die before the parent and so suddenly. It is the worst kind of sorrow.

I'm so sorry OP. I hope you get the answers you need and deserve. Unfortunately I'm not surprised that the county police are not being as helpful as they should be. It's outrageous that the police did not take a missing persons report when your family initially contacted them. I'm not the kind of person who usually screams lawyer, but I think in this case there is good reason to use the legal system to persuade the county to be more forthcoming and to try to ensure that they revisit the policies in place for dealing with this kind of tragic situation.

Someone, please help this family. Someone knows the last time they saw him or something about that night.

I feel sorry to say, but as is the case with many teens, the ones who were there who might know something more will likely not come forward as they would not want to get in trouble. If they are affluent in the area, their parents might have already consulted with attorneys to see if they should or could remain anonymous, or stay quiet altogether. Its very heartbreaking this story, especially because the realms of common sense say somebody knows something; however the realms of common decency rarely prevail in these situations.
