| If you have umbrella insurance, what do you pay for it? I just got quoted $600 for an annual policy up to $1 million. That seems steep to me but I have no way of knowing. |
| That does seem high. We have $1M and it is less than $250 a year. We did have to bump up our car insurance to $500K in coverage though before they'd issue the umbrella, can't remember what that increase was, but it wasn't much. |

That's too high. I pay less than that for $3M liability, maybe it's $450 a year or something.
The only thing I can think of is to make sure that you're comparing it against the same cost of the base homeowner's policy, or whatever it is. |
| About $200 for $2 million |
| We pay $20/ month for 1M |
| We pay $1400 for $4 million. We have 4 cars and 2 teen drivers though. I think that it roughly doubled when our kids started to drive. |
| What is umbrella insurance? |
A necessity in this highly litigious nation. |

| My insurance is that if anybody sues me they know I might murder them within 10 years. It tends to cut down on litigation. |

We pay $149 for $1M coverage through Erie Insurance.
|
| I just paid mine.$140 for one million dollars. |
| Now ours seems high. Just paid $1200 for $5M with Geico. |
Insurance for your umbrella. |
Arguably the most important insurance you can have. |
