When would someone need to get umbrella insurance? Is it based on net worth or HHI, or a combination? How do you determine how much umbrella insurance you need, $1M, $5M, $10M or more? Is that based on net worth or HHI, or a combination?

Ever heard the expression “I’m gonna sue you for all you’re worth”? Well, some of us would like to insure for that possibility or any other catastrophic judgment against us.

Are you saying that if your net worth is $1M, then you only need a $1M policy? What if the sue you for $2M, wouldn’t they get all you have? In what situations can they take future income? Signed someone that would also like to protect all I’m worth.
