From the Atlantic:
Context matters. From another person, at another time, observing that Sergeant La David Johnson “knew what he signed up for” by joining the Army wouldn’t have sparked outrage. But consider what else Representative Frederica Wilson—with the backing of Johnson’s mother—has alleged: that Trump didn’t know Johnson’s name; he repeatedly called him “your guy.” And that Trump’s tone was oddly jovial: “He was almost, like, joking.” https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/10/why-trump-cant-handle-the-cost-of-war/543492/ |
So the excuse is that he didn't remember, but he remember enough to deny it? |

Wilson knows that this subject is not one to joke about. When she was laughing and smiling about becoming a "rock star," you could tell she was doing it in a really serious way. |
Well, the phone calls between a president and the grieving family are no longer sacred. They once were. Thanks to Congresswoman Wilson, other gold star wives and families are putting out recordings of their calls with President Trump to disprove the media narrative. It is a shame they feel the need to do that. Congresswoman Frederica Wilson has caused this to be political by making a political statement following the call. I find it hard to believe that her statement did anything to sooth the grieving family. |
WTF? |
He was with the 3rd, attached to the Green Berets. Since you want to be exact. Still a long way from a Marine since its all Army. |
The repeal of the Clean Power Act will cost over 560,000 jobs in the US and 52 billion in economic activity. https://www.e2.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/FINAL-CPP-jobs-report-6.21.17.pdf Why are you in for of over half a million Americans losing their jobs? |
I don’t know what you’re looking at but that was not anyone’s reply to this question. |
That is a good article. |
Actually, it was. I reposted it above. |
But just so we're clear: Trump and his supporters are totally, totally not racists. This family being black, this member of Congress being black, that has utterly nothing to do with any of this. In fact, anyone who notices that the family is black, and that it is often black people who are abused by Trump and his supporters, is *themselves* the racist. See now? |
Are you saying the call was bungled because the Marine and his widow were black? |
Oye. Back to the race card and the accusations that Trump voters are racists. Sigh. |
At some point, there is a habitual pattern, and Trump seems to be living it. So either he is constantly belittling people who happen to be black, or he is doing it unconsciously or consciously.
As to the voters, it is up to you to decide how important it is to have someone who believes all people are created equal in the White House. |
