They have done extraordinarily well for a not very good lax team.

Seems several T25 D1 coaches know more about how to spot great talent than you do.

I agree with the PP. This Cap team, ranked 21st in the country, has over performed. Don’t see it as a controversial take.

Either T25 coaches saw great talent on this team or Capital’s recruiting machine lived up to the hype. Can’t be both.

Exactly! Either way it is a great rebuttal to all of the Capital naysayers on this board.

Of course Capital has talent. I'm not sure anybody said they didn't.

I think what people were saying is that they are not a great team. Both can be true.

Cap blue had 7 losses by 3 or less goals to teams ranked from 3-16 Agreed that they are not a "great" team, but they were competitive against higher ranked teams. That is what it is all about, playing high caliber teams and holding your own. I think the commitments reflect that.

Yes, people need to realize lax at this level W/L don't matter. It's about be competitive against top teams.

The quality of the lacrosse, not academics, rankings for Capital is in line with the team's success. Zero top 5 & a small number in the 6-20 range. No surprise.

Good try. Under your logic, the average rank of the schools the players on the #10 ranked team should be #10. How does that work for the #1 ranked team? Did every player who didn't commit to UNC, fail? Sophistry.

There are top tier players who are committed to top tier schools from clubs well outside the top 20. And plenty of players from top ranked clubs, indeed fully half of the #1 team's commits, are to programs outside the top 20. Come on.

The fact is that the Capital 2027s' recruiting results are really outstanding, a testament to the players' talent, their academic performance, and yes, club reputation and recruiting support.
Given the heat and energy invested by the haters into hoping for failure for this the recruiting year for this class (horrible look, by the way), I expect no end to the bad arguments as to how this years results were somehow a disappointment. This one fails on it's face.

Nope, nope. No revisionist history. Read the thread. The naysayers clearly said that since the team wasn't good, their recruiting results wouldn't be good because Capital couldn't help them. Lots of ominous warnings and premature Schadenfreude.

Exactly....if the game is competitive, it does not matter who wins.

Let's not forget about how it is all downhill from here. They are an old model that is no longer relevant. Makes me even more proud of the 2027s!

Agreed. The credit really needs to go to the parents and kids that work hard to attend all of the events and outside training. There are countless hours in the car, plane rides, and training. A small fortune is spent making all of this happen. The kids also attend some of the best schools in the area and most are very good students. I give Capital credit for club reputation, but the recruiting support is spotty and Capital training and development is almost non existent. Girls were still able to get into some great schools (Academic and Lacrosse), so kudos to them!
