I think it’s fair to say at this point that the Cap 27s have done far better than the naysayers predicted, wanted, or expected.
They have done extraordinarily well for a not very good lax team.
Seems several T25 D1 coaches know more about how to spot great talent than you do.
I agree with the PP. This Cap team, ranked 21st in the country, has over performed. Don’t see it as a controversial take.
Either T25 coaches saw great talent on this team or Capital’s recruiting machine lived up to the hype. Can’t be both.
Exactly! Either way it is a great rebuttal to all of the Capital naysayers on this board.
Of course Capital has talent. I'm not sure anybody said they didn't. I think what people were saying is that they are not a great team. Both can be true.
Nope, nope. No revisionist history. Read the thread. The naysayers clearly said that since the team wasn't good, their recruiting results wouldn't be good because Capital couldn't help them. Lots of ominous warnings and premature Schadenfreude.
Let's not forget about how it is all downhill from here. They are an old model that is no longer relevant. Makes me even more proud of the 2027s!
Agreed. The credit really needs to go to the parents and kids that work hard to attend all of the events and outside training. There are countless hours in the car, plane rides, and training. A small fortune is spent making all of this happen. The kids also attend some of the best schools in the area and most are very good students. I give Capital credit for club reputation, but the recruiting support is spotty and Capital training and development is almost non existent. Girls were still able to get into some great schools (Academic and Lacrosse), so kudos to them!
I am a 26 Orange parent and could have written this word for word myself :) 1000000% Agree!
