If only a small portion of the way (I'm assuming), wouldn't we assume whatever went wrong went wrong at that point? Wouldn't that point to a breach/implosion rather than getting stuck on the wreckage or whatever other nonsense?

it takes 2 and half hours to get all the way down so they were pretty far. does seem to point to a breach.

That’s what makes the most sense but the alleged tapping sound throws that theory out. So either the tapping is something else or wasn’t ever really there or they didn’t implode from a breach because they couldn’t be tapping if their vehicle imploded them

The tapping is most likely coming from the Titanic

covered somewhere in this thread....

I’ve read estimates that on the night it sank, they think it took about 30 mins between the time Titanic’s stern disappeared from view and when it hit the ocean floor. Which is still in incredibly long for a free fall and emphasizes the depth, but not 2 hours. I know they don’t just drop by gravity, but why so long?

Yeah I thought that sounded super long too. Unless that time includes “driving” along the floor to the wreckage site?

Harding’s own stepson went to a Blink 182 concert last night and posted about it. I feel justified. If he’s not worried about propriety why am I.

There is nothing that justifies what goes on in your head and your heard. you are one sick ba*ter.

What is a baster

Note to Mission Control: this thread has become TOTALLY unhinged...

They are incredibly bright animals and should only take a couple of hours to train. Would be good to at least try while they wait for the ship with unmanned submersibles to arrive.

They could also consider some sort of pully with magnets, perhaps using a nearby fishing ship in the area.

It's 13000 ft into the darkest depths. No dolphin or fishing boat can navigate this. Even military submarines.

You're envisioning a fun little snorkling trip . This isn't it.

And also, dolphins are mammals.

Orcas are mammals too. I don't think sharks are tho.

You don’t think sharks are mammals? Are you 3?

CNN: Wawa will temporarily refer to hoagies as "subs" in show of solidarity with rescue effort.

I think I read the whole mission would've been 8-10 hrs. So the 2 1/2 was for the descent (and ascent).

It takes an hour for the sub to travel a mile??

well its more like 2 miles. but yes. it doesn't have like a great big motor or something. small propellor

Someone at the surface had to wind it up from the back real good after locking the 17 hatches before sending them down so after awhile it slows down and speed decreases

Sharks are fish, even though some people believe they are mammals due to how big some of them can get and because some give birth to live young. Fish are aquatic animals that were among the first vertebrates (animals with a backbone) to evolve on earth. They are divided into two broad groups:

Teleosts (tel-ee-ost) – they have a bony skeleton and symmetrical tail.
Elasmobranchs (el-as-mo-branch-es) – they have a skeleton made of cartilage and include sharks, rays and skates.
So, while all sharks are fish, not all fish are sharks!

2.5 hours about 2 miles under the surface, so just over a mile per hour.

Assuming a constant descent velocity, they were about 70% of the way there, about 2,660m.

A lot of people use humor to get through tough times. Should we be crying and praying instead? Would that help missing people?
