No they wouldn’t, because it would destroy the municipal bond market. |
This is not an election issue. |
Lol SCOTUS is totally controlled by the republicans. It would help the republicans if the bond market crashed. They can blame Biden and the dems plus make a little money. |
Go to bed and let the grown ups has their peace, junior. You don’t understand how the economy works. |
Okay I see you can not argue the facts so you resort to personal attacks. I seriously doubt anyone such as yourself who relies on Fox News really has any understanding of the economy, legal system or financial markets. Continue on with your naivety. If SCOTUS rules on Disney they will restrict the ruling to Reedy Creek Improvement District as a one off ruling. They have done it before in political cases and a few people will grumble about but not too loudly. The facts around the case would make it very easy to do. The 4.2 trillion municipal bond market will absorb the 1 billion dollar lost and continue on. DeSantis is a republican rising star and likely next President. No way in hell SCOTUS damages him politically. |
Dp- the fact that you think you are arguing with a RWNJ shows how … silly? misguided? ignorant? Pick one… you are. |
+1. I am the pp you two are talking about/to. I am not a RWNJ, and am very anti-DeSantis. I think this was a stupid move be DeSantis and ultimately Disney will win this fight because legally DeSantis can’t do what he’s trying to do but is too arrogant to bother having this analyzed properly instead of pulling some stupid knee jerk move. But I stand by my position that SCOTUS would not allow DeSantis to go forward with this, and DeSantis wouldn’t let it get to SCOTUS level in the first place. He knows he screwed up so he will try to quiet negotiate a resolution. |
I agree. |
DP. The corruption and intellectual bankruptcy of the Roberts court is legendary and I would not put it past them to side with DeSantis. They don’t seem to care about anything except installing the Christian white nationalist government that the GOP has wanted for decades. |
Tell me you don't actually follow SCOTUS without telling me you don't actually follow SCOTUS. |
You’re right. There is no shadow docket in which the far right justices have gotten away with absolute nonsense and even the full court hasn’t reversed precedence and ignored everything else in order to get to the result they want. Turns out, having two completely illegitimate justices (plus Merrick Garland’s seat and Clarence Thomas, who has no business being on the court when he and his wife are warriors for the Christian nationalist movement) isn’t good for the court’s integrity. Who knew. |
Again, tell me you don't actually follow SCOTUS without telling me you don't actually follow SCOTUS. |
|
It all started with bush v gore. SCOTUS appointed a republicans as president and said this was a one off case. Look at the Texas abortion law. SCOTUS allows the law to stand overturning precedent and constitutional rights.
They will just get more aggressive enforcing their political views on people and businesses. We all know the outcome of a case before it is “decided” by SCOTUS. |
| DeSantis says Disney will pay. DeSantis is the executive of Florida, he controls the Florida legislative branch and Florida courts. Disney will pay. |
DP what’s your point? Are you going to add something to the conversation or just troll? |
