Seems an exaggeration. Here's the April unemployment rate going back to 2008, the Great Recession is considered to have started in Oct 2007 and the pandemic effects are obvious in 2020-2021. 5% unemployment is considered to be full employment in the US (lower unemployment rates are considered to contribute to inflation). 2024 3.9 2023 3.4 2022 3.6 2021 6.1 2020 14.8 2019 3.6 2018 3.9 2017 4.4 2016 5 2015 5.4 2014 6.2 2013 7.6 2012 8.2 2011 9.1 2010 9.9 2009 9 2008 5 |
Top headline on my Wapo front page this morning, with sub heading:
“Biden team hails ‘lightning speed’ call on strikes in Russia. Meanwhile, Kharkiv burned. Washington finally allowed Kyiv to strike limited targets inside Russia with limited weapons. It might be too little, too late.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/06/01/us-ukraine-weapons-kharkiv-biden/ The article does not mention a single time that it was the GOP who blocked all aid for months allowing Russia to take the lead. It paints a picture of a dithering president being obsessed with the details. It is unreal how slanted the allegedly liberal media is and how badly they want the traitorous and fascist GOP in office. |
Sick. Probably a combination of corporates pushing on them plus emasculated editors who are overly afraid of being accused of being biased or pandering to Biden. Deranged pendulum-swing garbage. |
+1 This isn’t 2016. The choice is Biden or the felon. For some reason the “left wing” media keeps working to elect the felon. |
This is true but it doesn't negate the fact that we will have a sub-standard POTUS of questionable fitness leading us until 2029. Regardless of who wins in November, this election will be an embarrassing stain on America's reputation around the world. The American people will lose big time in November. |
Don’t faux agree with me to push your Republican agenda. |
I'm not so sure I'd agree with big picture thinking being a part of the current Republican agenda. Maybe in your world, but not mine. |
Biden beat trump once and is the only Dem who comes close to beating him in the polling. If the GOP ran a "normal" candidate, Biden would drop out. But the GOP is so far gone off the cult of Trump rabbit hole that this is what we have. I am still awaiting the polling that would suggest independents and traditional conservatives are chomping at the but to vote for a felon. |
Be that as it may it still doesn't give them a reason to treat the convicted felon with kid gloves - yet that's what they are doing. And we still haven't forgotten about the so-called "liberal media" dogpiling on Hillary over the bogus "Butter Emails" crap and so many other things. |
If Biden is the only candidate the DNC can convince to run on their ticket that is capable of beating the absolute worst POTUS candidate ever who is now also a convicted felon, well then the DNC needs to be put out of business after the 2024 election. They are a private entity that shouldn't be considered too large to fail. We must do much, much better. |
Well get out there buttercup! Start your grass roots effort today, because it will take years to build another party. But spare us your complaints about the Democratic Party 6 months before a presidential election. You are lazy and boring. |
