So are they transiting to AWS, Alexa, digital content only?
Mayne HQ2 will be the services HQ? |
| Is a small right sizing. It’s no biggie |
| They are more restructuring and if you read the article those will get offered jobs in other areas. Not everything is with HQ2. They were clear, if you read it, that it was with the sales. |
Downsizing restructuring layoffs. Whatever. They are stilling trying to hire thousands of guest workers to replace US citizens. This is the new normal |
They aren't replacing US workers. They are simply hiring them. If you want a job with Amazon, apply. Plenty of openings. |

Amazon is shining example of US values

Very few companies are more aligned with the Democratic philosophy than Washington's Amazon. So why is Amazon so insensitive?
|
| They're actually getting rid of underperformers, and in 2017 they had a net growth in hiring. |
So naive are the educated elite until it happens to them Rank and yank |
This is always the case in any large company. You must protect yourself - no one else will. |
Average tenure is 2 years What a great company to work for |
It is if you're upper management. You burn and churn, extracting maximum productivity and utility from your employees. That's the Amazon culture and explains why it has been so successful - starting almost 20 years ago from a simple online bookstore in 1999. Don't be so surprised - many so-called great companies started this way too. Look at Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, etc.... They all grew very quickly and success as an employee was based on merit/productivity. Average and under performers were not retained. If you're looking to pull a 9-5 shift and go home, Amazon and other companies like it aren't for you. Don't hate the player, hate the game. |
Oh be quiet fool. Nobody can keep up the pace of 80 hour weeks over an entire career without repercussions. Not even you. |
The game where you work your life away to line someone else’s pockets? A sucker is truly born every minute. |
Not saying it's right, just that it's the way such companies are run. If you don't want to pull those hours, don't work there. I agree that you'll be working your life away to make others rich, but that's what everyone else is doing unless they own the company. If you want to get rich, you won't do so by working for someone else. If your going to work your life away, you might as well do it for yourself. |
