I see that President Obama is going on just about every channel that exists this Sunday including Univision but not FOX. FOX is the highest rated cable channel..well above CNN and it just shows a childishness that if you don't agree with his policies, he won't go on your channel. He also campaigned that he was going to reach out to conservatives..really? I also think that if you can't deal with tough questions from fellow Americans..how can you deal with Iran, Venezuela and other hotspots. I was actually surprised that he was this petty and impressed that the CEO of Acorn is going to go on FOX this Sunday--showed she is ready to deal with tough questions and I am going to be open-minded when I tune her in. |
I would love to hear more on Venezuela. As someone with friends and family trapped there, the creeping Stalinization of that imperfect but formerly hopeful country is depressing. |
Fox, alone of the major networks, didn't broadcast Obama's State of the Union address. So, apparently they aren't interested in broadcasting Obama's appearances. It's pretty rich to complain now.
|
Maybe Fox is the big baby. |
You Big Dummy,
Fox chose not to broadcast him. It is not thefirst time. They gleefully shun him because of their political bias. Al credible lnews outlets are able to cover any presidential address they choose. So by your logic we should condemn Fox news which btw is only big if you exclude ABC CBS and NBC. |
That's just patently false. They covered his big address to congress after he took office. They haven't covered some of his health care infomercials. Now let's remember how prime re stopped covering Bush's speeches because they were interrupting programming. Of course fox covers state of the unions and newsworthy addresses to the nation. You are clearly living on a desert island. |
Sorry, I misspoke. I meant "address to a joint session of Congress" rather than state of the Union. The point remains, Fox alone of the major networks did not broadcast it. Obama will be talking about health care this weekend. If Fox was interested, they should have broadcast his address. Moreover, Fox is a propaganda outlet rather than a legitimate news operation. There is no reason for Obama to treat them otherwise.
|
Ok so let me get this straight you are proposing that each president only have a relationship with the branch of the media that fawns over them? Can we remind you of this in three years?
|
No. I am saying that Fox has made political judgements about what to broadcast and, as such, should not be surprised when the Whitehouse acts in kind. Broadcasting a major address to both chambers of Congress is not "fawning". Or, if it is fawning, then Fox fawned on Bush for 8 years because they always broadcast his major addresses. Either way, Fox makes political rather than journalistic judgements about what to broadcast. That's what would be expected of a propaganda outlet such as Fox in any case. |
I think you completely missed his point. |
Fox covers the President everyday but maybe not like the ABC infomercial that had no opposing opinions and was set up by Obama administration personell Ann Douglas who used to be an exec at ABC. Again he is showing a childish and petty side..if you don't give me favorable coverage and do what I like, then I will exclude you attitude. He is supposed to be above this and of course not scared by tough questions because some of the world'd meanest ex. Iran will push him harder. Again..Acorn stepped up to the plate and this conservative thinks..wow she must have something important to say and she is not afraid of tough questions---kind of makes me route for her. |
Just to be clear, you equate the President's address to Congress on Sept 9th, 2009 the same as the "ABC infomercial'? |
Wow. This is totally incoherent. Conflating Fox News, Iran, and ACORN like they're all equal players on a board game. |
what am I missing here? I watched the address on health care to congress on fox. Please get your facts straight. |
If Fox thought it's viewers wanted to hear about Obama's plans for health care they would have broadcast his address to Congress on the subject instead of a reality show.
