Again he is showing a childish and petty side..if you don't give me favorable coverage and do what I like, then I will exclude you attitude. He is supposed to be above this and of course not scared by tough questions because some of the world'd meanest ex. Iran will push him harder. Again..Acorn stepped up to the plate and this conservative thinks..wow she must have something important to say and she is not afraid of tough questions---kind of makes me route for her.

Just to be clear, you equate the President's address to Congress on Sept 9th, 2009 the same as the "ABC infomercial'?

what am I missing here? I watched the address on health care to congress on fox. Please get your facts straight.

not the fox network channel.

They showed it on cable. SO why won't the president appear on FOX cable if you are putting this in such a tit for tat eye for an eye kind of way?

Not end of story. The President is supposed to be above pettiness and not act childish. Fox news is the broadcast to a lot of people and when he makes the point to do interviews on a single day with every major channel except one..it is petty.

The President's job is to get his message across to the people. I'm sure every American had the chance to see that message.

Fox's beef with the President is well-documented, and yes it does matter that the network was running the first episode of So You Think You Can Dance instead of the address. It tells us all exactly what Rupert Murdoch thinks and how he is willing to use his power. He's a big boy and he knows the consequences of how he runs his news organization. I'm sure he isn't whining.

As for the "news personalities" on Fox News, sorry they didn't get their government handout today, but I guess there is some downside to running your news shows like a circus . I sure hope they can make their mortgage payments without the freebie ratings booster.

He is a child--not professional at all. He is going on letterman and that is serious?

Actually, the fact that you refer to the president as a "big baby" and a "child" is illustrative of one reason not to bother with Fox. Why should the President go on a network on which he is repeatedly referred to as a racist, Nazi, communist, etc. and whose viewers call him a baby and a child? People who speak of Obama in such terms have already made up their minds. There is no reason to waste time on you. You seem to think that the president is a punching bag who should make himself available to be attacked by his political enemies. That's pretty naive of you.

Are all the people who want Obama to go on Fox the same people who didn't want to hear a word of his address to students 2 weeks ago?

Are you for real? Is this conversation for real? This is a message board. Of course people are being irreverant and tongue and cheek. If that predicates the president's decisions on television forums that is sad. The pp already said that when people appear on fox he or se is ready to listen with an open mind. The president did say he would reach out to conservatives. I not sure that fox is the forum for that since who is to say it is only conservative there, but he should be appearing on a variety of forums and if he has time for letterman I would think he has time for fox.

What it's worth, I listened to the interview with ACORN today on Fox and thought it was fair and actually have some hope that they could change their organization so the notion that a conservative isn't open to listening to anything President or ACORN whatever is false. As for the President-he is a President of everyone including conservatives so he owes it to reach out and FOX straight news is very balanced--don't confuse pundits with their news reporting. I am not surprised that Jeff Steele has the mindset of who cares about conservatives--that is a bad attitude and is the mindset that starts civil wars. Reportingwise..Major Garrett is a class act and is well respected as a journalist by his peers on all networks. The broader problem is that FOX would for sure ask tough questions but President Obama should be able to answer tough questions and he should look forward to taking these questions head on to dispel any confusion. Too often he gets softball questions and when there is one tough question there is almost never a follow up--people are getting tired of this which may be why FOX numbers have gone up and up and Obamas numbers keep going down.

Agree with all of the above. Would like to see my president sit for unscripted, but respectful interviews. I have overdosed on these 'town halls' that are the strangest piece of theater I have ever seen. Go on Fox Mr. President. Sit for an interview with Major Garret. Present your views. If you have deep convictions, thinking on your feet is no problem--because you are going to express what comes from the core. Do it.

The notion that Obama is afraid of tough questions or doesn't care about conservatives is ridiculous. Bill O'Reilly interviewed him when McCain was no where to be found. It was a great interview and no one can say O'Reilly panders to anyone.
When Jeff said he shouldn't bother with certain people he didn't mean all conservatives. He meant the people that are dead set on hating Obama (i.e referring to him as a big baby).

He just did a bunch of unscripted, yet respectful interviews today.

Look, Fox is the problem, not Obama. Fox was entirely too happy to call him a racist, to spread rumors that he was a Muslim and studied at a Madras, that he might not even be a true citizen. They have joked on camera about him being assassinated. Fox turned the fist bump into a "terrorist fist jab". They call the first lady "Obama's Baby Mama". It's their fault they are a bunch of slanderous blowhards.

I bet if Obama went on Fox and gave an unscripted, respectful interview, you'd still be calling him a baby and many other childish names.

You have never heard their politcal reporters act less than respectful. Does someone have any ellvidence that Major Garrett is not respectful? O'Reilly was respectful to President Obama so the notion that the President is not treated well is bunk. This was a Presidential tantrum.ohhhh I don't like your coverage so I am going to punish you--lame.

What's lame are these infomercials. Lame and belittling to the general public.
