I probably have an irrational fear of this year’s flu, but I was wondering is anyone avoiding the gym, or changing their routine, to try to avoid the flu? |
No, but I am diligent about not touching my face and washing my hands afterwards. I do barre classes, but if I were at the gym, I would absolutely wipe down the treadmill or other equipment before and after use. Flu is mostly transitted person to person, less so from germs on objects, so if I saw anyone with obvious sneezing or congestion, I would wander away and exercise farther away. Otherwise, it's life as normal. It's good for your immune system to stay fit! |

9:19 - people could probably be contagious before they realize they're sick.
Conversely, some people might look sick when they aren't. I have a sniffly nose all winter long - it starts running as soon as I come inside from the cold. I also have major foliage allergies every spring and fall. So someone seeing me blowing my nose might think I'm sick, but I'm not. |
