What are you getting your wife for Valentines Day? (Or wives, what do you want from DH?)

I need some ideas (that cost less than $50)

I'm easy to please. A nice box of chocolates or flowers and a heartfelt letter do it for me.

Less traditional things depend on your wife. What are her hobbies? I'd like sheet music (I'm learning how to play the piano), or a nice cookbook (I love to bake). I'd also appreciate practical things for the home, like new bedsheets. You can get a nice set of Tahari sheets from Homegoods for $50 or less. But I know some ladies don't like presents for the house or kitchen.

It really depends on her taste. Tell us about her!

I will probably get her a small but good box of chocolate and some flowers. She will binge on the chocolate, ignore the flowers.

A sweet card with a handwritten note.

I don’t want more than that. Nice additional ideas would be U2 concert tickets, a gift certificate for a couples massage, a night away where you plan sitter, Hotel etc., jewelry but know her taste, my husband isn’t too good on this front though the effort is appreciated, make her dinner if you never cook and do the clean up.

No into Valentine's day. Normally DH makes the whole family a really nice meal.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed the day before Valentine's day. My DH will be picking up my pain medicine and loster mac n cheese. He will be my food delivery service for a few days.

Same here! You just need to know your spouse. Are they into this or not? I'm definitely not. I prefer my DH to show me he loves me every day, not just on VD. He does a pretty good job of it through his consideration, support, kindness and emotional availability.

In previous years, DH has given me romantic gifts that I liked. Perfume, (but actually smell it first & get something you really like) Or lingerie (but not something too fitted, that may not fit). One year he got me a beautiful pink, silk robe that I still have. I personally don't want something "useful" like a sports item or craft item that I buy myself. I like something with a meaning or something he finds appealing. I usually get him the chocolate, that we all share.

I'll likely be getting some chocolate, flowers, a card and some nice take out. He will get chocolate and a card. Just like every year.
