Random pet-peeve of the day

Anonymous
When you make an effort to make you home look nice for a party, and when people arrive they schlump their coats on a random chair by your front door or on your sofa without asking where it should go when there is a coat closet I'd be happy to put it in.

It's the first coat-schlumper's fault. The ones that followed him/her just thought that's what you wanted. The first one is a terrible person!

Maybe the coat schlumper doesn't want to bug you since you're busy hosting. I always like it when the host of the party immediately tells me when I enter what to do with my coat.
Anonymous
Take their coat as soon as they enter.

Yeah I usually try to catch people at the door when I'm hosting, but sometimes you can't. If I don't see the host I'll ask someone, excuse me, where did you put your coat?

I've seen this before at friends/relatives homes and I try and grab them and ask the host (or her husband) where I can put them or just find a place. I hate seeing coats too. I agree that it is the first offender's fault. The host should be greeting people and taking care of it, in theory, but things never go according to plan...

My random pet peeve of the day is going to the DMV with my kid and dodging (or trying to dodge) the lady with her Obama-Hitler sign. And then trying to answer, "Mommy, why does President Obama have that little mustache?"

Mine is running a yellow light (it WAS yellow) and getting a ticket for running a red light and not having a freaking soul to be my witness.

Today my electronic key lock for my car didn't work after I pressed it two times-it worked the third time but I am still pissed (this was six hours ago). Thanks for all for just letting me vent.

My dog gave me a really dirty look this morning-I'm on the phone with a reputable pet relocation service right now.

My tummy hurts.

My hairdresser who unilaterally moved my appointment to a new date and time without ever asking me if it was ok. And then, instead of calling, sent an e-mail, which I didn't get, because it went into the spam file. Hairdresser is now FORMER hairdresser.

Hairdresser is now Happier Hairdresser.

Isn't it customary for the host to say "let me take your coat" as he/she greets guests at the door?

My manicurist didn't speak a word in a foreign language, thus preventing me from having a good princess-like grump.
