Jealous of friend

She has everything. She met and dated this super ambitious guy in grad school. They’re now married and have one adorable kid. Her husband is mega successful and has built a multimillion dollar business. She quit working upon marriage. And now lives the dream life. Living in a mansion, working out, has live in help, picking out the best preschool for her kid, owns multiple properties. All because of whom she married. She’s not even 30 yet.

And here’s me, struggling in a low paid job, living in a one bedroom in the suburbs, long commute, student loans, husband and I have useless degrees so none of us have good jobs. HHI $150 combined. I don’t want to work but I have to.

I knew someone just like this ....her husband started his own business and it's still doing well.

If you define success by money and comforts, you will always be jealous of someone. There is so much more to life and things money can't buy (health, love, faith, hope, true friendship, respect).

So you think she has a perfect life? Maybe she's miserable, her husband is abusive, and it's all a farce. Who knows. Instead of being jealous, make your life into what you want it to be. You could spend 10 years wallowing in self-pity, or you could start changing things now. Life is what you make it. You can be? happy or miserable. The choice is yours. I have no sympathy, either.

Seriously. I'm a sahm living in NY with a hhi under 100k living in a 3 bedroom apartment with no debts. Stop worrying about what others have and change what your doing to get to where she is.

OP there’s probably someone in your life looking at your life enviously too. We can’t all be millionaires but we can choose to make the most of what we have and work towards the type of future you’d prefer.

Train to do something you enjoy doing and pursue that.

A man is not a plan. Invest in yourself.

You don't have kids yet and don't want to work? FFS. Get it together.
