Don’t ever marry a man that has a bad relationship with his mother. His anger will be misdirected at you in some form or another. It’s not worth it, no matter how charming he comes across.

What is it with women who over-indulge their boys? Is it some type of inferiority complex they have? It really shows when you see how they don't over-indulge with their girls.

We have different expectations for ourselves, and therefore by extension, our daughters. Much of this does not occur on a conscious level. See also women whose husbands are in "high power jobs" but can't manage any household tasks, which is dismissed as "he just doesn't see the problem!"

He sees it. He also knows someone else will take care of it. And we do.

It goes the other way too. Dad will treat his daughter like a princess, then be a hard-ass when it comes to his son.

Ok so let's review what we've learned this week from the font of knowledge that is DCUM:


A man with a healthy relationship with his mother is a mama's boy. Avoid these men, they are creeps.

A man with a bad relationship with his mothe is a volatile confused jerk with anger issues who will lash out at you in misdirected rate. Avoid these men, they are dangerous.

A man who didn't have a mother at all is an incomplete person, and missing all the psychological components needed for interacting with a female. Avoid these men, they are weird.
